One of the reasons why the Indian government is working with the Taliban is to deprive the Pakistanis of "strategic depth" - in other words, prevent them from running away.

In the 1971 war, the PAF moved planes into Afghanistan to avoid their destruction by the IAF.

More recently, a Pakistani analyst was lamenting on TV over the deaths of various terrorists. According to him, the Indians were paying Afghanis 2x the normal rate for hits on Pakistani soil.

You could upgrade your own commentary by explaining the acronyms you use: such as TTP. Presumably that is Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan - but I shouldn't have had to go to Google for it.
