You hit the nail on the head with this article. That is exactly why the US isn't rescuing Saudi Arabia in Yemen. Much like hitting Iran was always meant to damage the Gulf's oil empire. Not only does North American oil giants get payback for the Gulf almost destroying their oil business back in 2014 when they flooded the world with cheap oil which had devastating effects on NAOI . Plus it will hurt China by affecting their economic growth as you stated. As you said the West will weather this better than the East. With the final goal of ending Russia's economic reliance on China through sanctions. When you see the much bigger picture its actually fucking brilliant, don't get me wrong, it's absolutely a disgusting play considering how many people will suffer. But from a strategic point it's brilliant if you are trying to bring maximum carnage to as many enemy countries as possible. Considering how many countries turned on America for Chinese stability, this seems like the ultimate plan. Hurt Russia, make China submit , damage the Gulf oil empire, they have Venezuelan oil all while American oligarchs are getting way richer. Irans hold on Hormuz isn't going to be effective if this is indeed a piece of a much bigger plan.

QUESTION: For Russia's sake, what does Russia gain from such mediation? Russia's diplomats cannot show their strength against Ukraine and the US, and very probably against Israel, because one cannot reason or compromise with someone who intends to go all the way without change or compromise. GCC countries are still trapped in USD hegemony and aren't ready to break free. Where is the middle ground between Israel and Iran?
