Poland’s territorial integrity and possibly even its statehood could be threatened if the authorities don’t thwart this scenario by at the very least amending the Citizenship Law and then “creatively coercing” most of this community into re-migrating to Ukraine.

Actually I think this approach of one nationality - citizenship should apply across all nations. USA is experiencing great social upheaval caused by migrants, (some with multiple passports already) ,seeking not only US citizenship but also seeking electoral candidature and political representation in the Senate and Congress. In that case the question must be asked - to which nation will you vow loyalty?

So each member country is on their own with this, and likely fighting Brussels at the same time on this issue. My parents came from that area over 110 years ago when it was under Austro-Hungarian rule. Many of their family were killed by Poles and were forced to flee after WWII. At some point Ukrainians will realize that having Russia as a friend would be in their best interests.

I believe after WWII there was a forced move/integration of Ukrainians in Poland where the farmers in the SE were moved to the SW and Poles were sent to replace them -- all for this very reason. (Apparently there this was a source of frustration for the Poles as the farms they were allotted were much lower quality than the ones the Ukrainians got).
The Poles are normally cynical to a fault. I'm surprised that they would allow the transient residents to be eligible for citizenship.
Fundamentally though, Ukrainians don't belong in Poland. Nothing good will come of it.
