Regarding Europe. A quick reminder: In 1992, all members of Western Europe swore that NATO would NEVER expand into the former Warsaw Pact countries. In 1995, the Europeans officially invented a genocide in Bosnia to intervene against Russia's Serbian ally. In 1996, Europe launched a slander campaign against Russia regarding Chechnya. In 1999, the Europeans invented a genocide in Kosovo to bomb Russia's Serbian ally. Skipping a few trifles to get to the serious part. In 2014, Germany and France SIGNED the guarantee of the crisis settlement agreement in Kyiv. Two days later, an armed coup drove out the legitimate government. Instead of demanding the president's return, the guarantors recognized the new regime within a week. Then the same two signed the Minsk 1 and 2 agreements. And the two heads of state who signed them boasted everywhere that they had only signed to allow Ukraine time to arm itself. Today, the Europeans are helping to kill Russian soldiers and, above all, Russian civilians. And they are doing it in the most repugnant, cowardly, and hypocritical way. Dealing with such people is not naivety; it is masochism."

Thanks for yet another good analysis.

Q. Given Kazakhstan’s heavy dependence on Russia to facilitate its oil exports and its trade more generally, and its lack of useful and proximate Western security guarantors, does Kazakhstan’s policy of moving towards aligning itself more closely with NATO not seem somewhat reckless.
