I think the ongoing spectacle reveals a Franco–German power-play against Trump (more so than Putin) using "liberal-globalist" Polish factions and the Ukrainian elite.
I think Ukraine is merely channeling EU threats against Trump vis-à-vis Nawrocki, just as it is doing the same on the Belarusian front. The Europeans are using Zelensky and Co. to stymy any chance of a U.S.–Russia summit, much less a deal. (The EU, likewise, is acting as a globalist–Islamist wedge rather than a truly sovereign "Europe".)
Since WWII, Mi6 and the OSS have been encouraging the glorification of Ukrainian Nazi collaborators, like Stepan Bandera (Operation Aerodynamic). This is baked so deeply into the system, that it would be almost impossible to undo. A little more discretion might help the Ukrainian cause, but subtlety doesn't appear to be their strong point...

Tusk is pretending to be neutral, which tacitly supports Zelensky, while Sikorski criticized Nawrocki.
