What is it with these tin soldiers? Why would Russia try to take a Baltic island when they already know that there would be no practical way of maintaining a siege let alone supplying an isolated invading force. Putin knows that would be suicide for his army - he is learning from Trump's ineptitude with Iran. Anyway Russia already has a Baltic "island" in Kaliningrad and any NATO advance on that territory would result in a hot kinetic response from Putin. The men who are supposed to be responsible politicians and competent high ranking military staff are simply displaying childish ignorance if they think they can extract "concessions" from Russia. What concessions? What is it that Russia has that they want? What justification do they have that they consider such blustering to be reasonable, let alone sensible? They are public servants. Their tasks are simple - keep us fed, keep us healthy and keep us secure in our homes WITHIN our own territories. Too hard? Can't do it? Then resign.

As many would say, the Western policy makers are all talking in the projection mode. The Swedish defense chief has merely conceded that the NATO countries have been thinking about an amphibious attack on Russian territory somewhere.
