The complex issue of German-Polish relations can be broken down to two issues:

What did self-disciplined subordination to America brought to Germany lately? What did the British alliance before and after WWII brought for Poland?

I am not going into the details because the answers are fairly obvious.

In addition there is an obvious, strengthening trend toward Populism in the Western World. Smart leaders will recognize this and align with it. A Populist alliance of the Westrn States is rapidly becoming an issue of survival. In absence of a nuclear war Populism will keep gaining against the Wako, Woke, parasitical commie tendencies presently still prevalent in the West. Poland – if brings America into the European theatre again – will commit a major act against European security and should suffer the consequences.

Trump just proved today that he is the most communist current leader of the world

It's a weird way of communism.

He don't give a shit of the people but he has just issued a decree which bail out the IA companies over-indebted with the money of tax payers.

It's a kind of privatised communism.

And about Trump, here is a man who breaks full boats of eggs but nobody have seen the beginning of an omelette.

A true communist. No?

Darras's avatar

What do mean by "communist"?

Herman's avatar

Communists, dear mr. Darras, are people who are good in breaking eggs but not good in cooking omelets.

Darras's avatar

You know, I'm French, and if it's the Americans which ousted finally Germans out of my country, without the russian communist eggs breakers, today I should speak german and I would be a slave of black nazi order.

Kennewick Man's avatar

You could be better off than slaving for Mr. & Mr. Macron.

Darras's avatar

Certainly.

But before him it was M. Hollande and before him it was M. Sarkozy and the three worked for the same master, M. R. , the name, like that of God , it's forbidden to pronounce. At least in France.

I don't know for what president we'll die next but he will have the same master, and the masters of this master.

It's like in the film Margin' Call, there's always a floor more above.

Darras's avatar

You can say that for every political system having ever existed.

Wild capitalist only know to make omelette for 0,1%.

Communism did a good military omelette between 1941 and 1945 in USSR in crushing the german nazi beast which crushed capitalist France and UK in six weeks.

If you ask to the Chineses, compared to their history, for the people, communism finally bring their a bloody good omelette and they never been so happy.

I don't like communism but I don't like neither easy and false cliché.

Herman's avatar

-I neither like communism nor capitalism, but capitalism at least delivers.

-It is doubtful whether the Soviet Union would have been able to defeat Hitler without the massive help from the capitalist USA. Read: Sean McMeekin's Stalin's War.

-The Chinese communists only managed to cook a good omelet after introducing a capitalist economy. Before that, it was very poor what they managed to dish up.

-You call German nazis "beasts"? How would you call the Soviet communists who shot, one by one, the 22,000 Polish POW's in Katyn and elsewhere, in 1940? How many such communist mass graves are still waiting to be dug up in that immense former concentration camp, of which you seem to be so fond?

Darras's avatar

"Massive" US aid to USSR, another cliché.

Look at the true numbers.

Ok, US gave thousands Studebaker trucks. Wow.

But Gave less than 3% of Tanks and Planes that USSR produced during the war.

And US help was near nothing in 41 when Russians stopped Germans in front of Leningrad and Moscow . Near nothing again in 1942 when Russians crushed Germans in Stalingrad.

Ok, thanks to USA, Red Army became the most motorized army of this time.

How can you compare the 22000 Poles assassinated by Russians with the 13 millions civil Russians assassinated by German beast. The 4 millions Russian prisoners assassinated by German beast, the six millions Poles assassinated by German beast?

Do you want we speak about the tens of millions murdered by European and American capitalist colonialism? How many millions killed by USA since 1945?.

Kennewick Man's avatar

I could explain it to you but only God could give you the understanding.

Darras's avatar

Define "God".

I ask that because I know that for Americans, communist mean all is not ultra-capitalist or all is "anti-american" and have very few relation with what is( was) communist.

And for God, it's worse, daring quote the name of god on a banknote seems to me the most blasphemy I've ever known. The same for those folks who claim "Jesus loves winner".

Only in USA.

With the god of Abraham, Jacob and Moïse, human kind succeeded in creating different visions and versions of this unic God. And in the name of their own visions they killed each other and hundreds millions of others since millemiums.

I don't know what unic God you refer.

Herman's avatar

The Fourth Reich... Really? I'm not afraid at all about Europe becoming a part of the Fourth Reich. I'm afraid about Europe becoming a part of the Third World, that's what I'm afraid about.

Herman's avatar

How disconnected from reality one must be to believe that a backbroken nation like Germany, flooded with Third World migrants, with plenty of its politicians and journalists in the service of the American Deep State, can become a new Nazi state?

Darras's avatar

Both, my colonel.

Herman's avatar

"Both my colonel." should be "Both, my colonel."

Darras's avatar

Yes, I've corrected. :)

I think that nobody think Germans want to become a nazi state. But very much people think that the Bismarck spirit rules again in german heads

Herman's avatar

That would be good news, since Bismark declared that the secret to good politics was to make a treaty with Russia.

Darras's avatar

Yes, the current German suicide is amazing. And it's the proof that Germany is really a US serf for killing itself like that just to please to Master Sam.

Germany allied with Russia would have become the great power of tomorrow.

Germany already rules all western, central and south Europe( included France). With Russia's own area and ressources it would have made an invincible force.

But Master Sam clapped his hands to end the dream time and tightened the leash.

Nobody can recognize Germany since Scholtz and his gang of green lunatics and now, there is Mad Mertz.

Unbelievable.

«What did self-disciplined subordination to America brought to Germany lately?»

What a stupid question! If someone self-disciplinedly hands over their wallet to someone who has a knife to their throat what does that bring to them?

I can reassure the readers that the ruling classes of the european countries including Germany are not meek USA servants they are greedy arrogant bastards and greatly resent having to obey those crass vulgar americans but they submit not because it brings them any advantage but because they have to. Sometimes they have delusions of independence but they get whacked easily.

Europe is not self-sufficient in cereals and hydrocarbons and the knee of the USA Navy is on their throat as the USA Navy controls utterly all their supply lines, plus every european country has a large USA "stay behind" fifth column and a lobby dependent on sales into the USA market. No european ruling class want to be "sanctioned" or "color revolutioned" by the USA.

As a demonstration of both the delusional arrogance and weakness of the european ruling classes here is a small example where the governments of UK and France had the laughable delusions they were in competition with another european government, that of Germany, for regional suzerainty:

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/editorials/2009/10/23/geye23.ART_ART_10-23-09_A17_DVFEUK6.html

«Documents released by the British Foreign Office in September, for instance, show the surprising depth of the antipathy British leader Margaret Thatcher and French leader Francois Mitterrand held toward the changes in Germany. [...] At one point, the prime minister even went so far as to warn Mitterrand that a restored Germany would "dominate" Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary, leaving "only Romania and Bulgaria for the rest of us."»

What actually happened is that the ruling classes of the UK and France got none of those countries as vassals because the USA ruling class directly dominate Poland, Romania and Bulgaria and left Czechia-Slovakia and Hungary alone as too small to matter.

ironicskeptic's avatar

These discussions are useless: independence and sovereignty are not proportional to loud declamations while wearing imposing hats, they are a matter of actual power.

Neither the ruling class of Germany not Poland (or France or the UK) have the power to avoid dependency and to exercise sovereignty. Both can be badly damaged by the USA and neither has any alternatives to dependency on and suzerainty from the USA because the RF is too weak to be an alternative and the PRC is too far away and the USA have been very ruthless in blocking any attempt by EU ruling class to play both sides. This was proven in WW2 and doubly proven at Suez in 1956.

It does not matter that the ruling class of France or Germany still want "grandeur" or "reich" or the ruling class of Poland wants back the lithuanian-polish-ruthenian empire: those times are gone because the whole of the EU together cannot challenge any of the real powers because it is not self-sufficient in cereals and hydrocarbons (it seems self-sufficient in food but EU agriculture is dependent on oil/gas derived machinery and fertilizers).

The only option for european ruling classes is how much to be USA vassals because there is some (not large) negotiating space.

Not to mention european demographics.

There is a reason that military recruiters do not troll old folks homes looking to sign up geriatric metrosexuals.

ironicskeptic's avatar

«Not to mention european demographics. There is a reason that military recruiters do not troll old folks homes»

I may have already mentioned this but the biggest demographic reason reason why a mass war in Europe is hard to imagine is that a majority of native young men are only children or only sons because of low fertility rates and sending EU/RF/UA only children or only sons to die in war would mean a ferocious rebellion by their mothers. The only alternative would be to recruit and militarize young immigrants but I guess very few government would risk that. If that nonetheless happens the consequences will be quite interesting.

Note: The reason why even the fanatical fascist government of Ukraine has not dared to enact a lower age of recruitment than 25 and recently allowed the emigration of men under 23 is precisely that there are very few young people left and a majority are only children or only sons.

LudwigF's avatar

Thank you again for an insightful analysis.

As I understand it, Poland has a population of around 38m, of whom about 4m live overseas.

Its demographics are negative (ie tfr lower than replacement), and projections are for the population to continue to decline as far into the future as statisticians are willing to project.

Its physical infrastructure is crap, and requires tens of billions of dollars of investment to bring it up to Western European standards.

In 2026 its defense budget of circa $45b will be completely offset (ie funded) by EU inflows of the same amount; the following year, who knows?

All this, to me, does not an aspiring or potential regional superpower make.

Polish highways are increasingly better than German ones. It's not 2000 anymore.

Feral Finster's avatar

Pretend germany were to get tens of billions in EU structural adjustment monies.

Think german highways would still be delapidated?

Geocap Blog's avatar

Yes, because the problem in Germany is not finding a few million € to repair our infrastructure.

It's the wrong allocation of money, it's the tender procedure (cheapest offer gets the job), if construction work takes longer than expected, there are no consequences, there is a lack of labour and bureaucracy is also a nightmare. It's rare to pass by a construction site on a highway and actually seeing someone working there.

It's not the lack of money. Infrastructure maintenance is cheap compared to.. well.. spending half a trillion extra on defence.

Darras's avatar

No, no, no, in 2026 UE net contribution for Poland will never grab 45 billions. It will be between 2 and 5. And I ding already that too much .

Near 45 billion is what UE will give.

But Poland will give back near 42.

But that said, I'm ok with you. Poland is far to be even a middle power.

Walter DuBlanica's avatar

No need to worry about Gemany's hegenomy over east Europesn Slavs. RUSSIA is the big brother and they defeated Germay in WWII. As for Poland and it's illusions about being a POWER there was a simple answer in past years when Russia & Germany divided Poland and kept it in control. So Poland behave or this can happen again.

Paul Jurczak's avatar

The poster on the top undercounts the area of Poland, which is 312,696 square km. This is one of many thousand facts you had to memorize during geography lessons when I went to school.

Darras's avatar

Poland made 312696km² in the 30'??

;)

Darras's avatar

Statut of big power?

Can somebody remind me when was the last time Poland was a big power? 350 years before?

I don't remember when Russia did a surrender in 1991. But I remember very well that Tchernobyl finished off the soviets in costing one year GDP. I remember also a moron called Gorbachev who lent a friendly hand to USA and Reagan held this hand "brotherly". Nobody spoke about a US victory on USSR. It's years after that suddenly, neocon sang that USA won the cold war.

90 % of the Germans losses were in soviet front, not on US front.

80% of Japanese's losses were due to Chinese, not US.

I

I don't remember there was US soldier in Dunkirk in June 1940. I don't remember that USA was at war in 1940.

In the WW1, US action was anectodic and never put an only foot on Turkish and Austrian front

Spain was already dead since two centuries when American hyenas teared it's empire.

You have to understand that US' oligarchy is not a brave eagle which destroy empires.

It's only a vulture which fatten up with the carcass of other's wars.

ironicskeptic's avatar

«I don't remember when Russia did a surrender in 1991»

Very funny! :-)

«In the WW1, US action was anectodic and never put an only foot on Turkish and Austrian front»

Without USA funding the UK, France, Italy (having run out of money in 1916) they would have been defeated by the prussian and austrian empires and probably the ottoman empire would have lasted a bit longer too.

«90 % of the Germans losses were in soviet front, not on US front. 80% of Japanese's losses were due to Chinese, not US.»

I have heard of this "proxy" war concept where the USA provide the logistics and someone else provides the casualties. :-)

«US' oligarchy is not a brave eagle which destroy empires. It's only a vulture which fatten up with the carcass of other's wars.»

I guess that they are rather good at doing proxy wars and at being vultures. That allowed them to win WW1, WW1, CW1 by using proxies to break up rival empires and getting into the action late to pick up the pieces of both sides. Pretty smart.
