Interpreting The Latest Report About The Indirect Shipment Of Pakistani Ammo To Ukraine
The NATO chief’s self-declared “race of logistics”/“war of attrition” with Moscow in their proxy war confirms that the bloc’s stockpiles are dwindling and require urgent replenishment from “far-flung countries like South Korea and Pakistan” exactly as France 24 reported in the middle of February.
India’s Economic Times published a detailed report on Sunday alleging that Pakistan is colluding with Canada, Germany, Poland, and the UK to indirectly dispatch ammunition to Ukraine. This latest claim builds upon what was previously reported late last year about a UK-led air bridge between Pakistan and Europe that was ferrying similar wares to that former Soviet Republic. Islamabad insists that it doesn’t export defense stores to states that subsequently retransfer them, but there are reasons to be skeptical.
The post-modern coup that was carried out against former Prime Minister Khan nearly a year ago resulted in the rise to power of openly US-aligned political forces that have prioritized repairing those two’s troubled bilateral relations from the past few years. Despite still abstaining from votes against Russia at the UN as well as recently reviving far-reaching economic and energy talks with Moscow, Pakistan is much weaker and less sovereign than at any time in recent memory.
The cascading crises that were exacerbated by last April’s US-orchestrated but superficially “democratic” regime change placed that country in a position of even more disproportionate dependence on the US-led West’s Golden Billion than ever before. The interconnected economic and financial dimensions on the past year’s troubles made Pakistan susceptible to related blackmail that some speculate could have taken the form of dangling the promise of much-needed aid in exchange for indirectly arming Kiev.
No such aid has yet to be disbursed, and it could very well be that this country is being masterfully manipulated by its traditional Western overlords as part of a plot to knock it out of the geostrategic game once and for all at this crucial moment in the New Cold War. Nevertheless, Pakistan is desperate enough to play along due to its impending bankruptcy, and the US-aligned worldview of its political and military leaderships facilitates Washington’s ongoing influence operations over Islamabad.
The abovementioned context sets the stage for the latest allegations that Pakistan has indeed struck a series of deals with its Western overlords for indirectly arming Ukraine against Russia.
Pakistan’s continued abstention from anti-Russian UN Resolutions and ongoing talks with Moscow in spite of its arguable indirect arming of Ukraine at its Western overlords’ behest can be explained by the first reassuring China that it hasn’t “fully defected” and the second being approved by the US. To elaborate, voting against Russia could scare China away from pouring more money into CPEC while reliable imports of discounted energy are required to prevent the post-modern coup regime’s collapse.
Neither of those two policies – abstaining from anti-Russian UN Resolutions and holding economic-energy talks with Moscow – precludes Pakistan’s US-aligned authorities from complying with the Golden Billion’s demands to indirectly arm Ukraine at this pivotal moment in their proxy war on Russia. It’s so desperate for financial aid from the West and its related institutions like the IMF that it’s unrealistic to imagine that its post-modern coup regime wouldn’t be tempted to do this as a possible quid pro quo.
The key word in the preceding assessment is “possible” since it’s far from guaranteed that financial aid will be forthcoming even if they fully give in to their overlords’ demands. At the very least, however, some allegedly corrupt elements within Pakistani institutions could profit from these transactions. In any case, this country lacks the same level of independence and sovereignty that it had under its former premier, hence why the latest reports about it indirectly arming Ukraine compellingly appear credible.
