In what’s been called the “Battle for Hungary”, this thwarted terrorist attack is thus far the most dramatic development by a long shot, much more meaningful that the latest Russiagate claims.
The USA does the dirty work and tries to blame Ukraine. USA hates Russia far more then does the Ukraine. There is an anti Russian element in the USA that will not stop hating Russians. They are called neo-cons. Need to pick them up & ship them out of our America. They are a danger to both Russia & the USA.
The fact that Trump 2.0 is unable (or unwilling) to reign in EU/Ukraine provocations such as this—despite overwhelming leverage, at least on paper—shows that Russia–U.S. negotiations are likely a waste of time. This incident shows that a) the ‘liberal globalists’ have more power than either the U.S. or Russia and b) that, by acting accordingly, they know this very well. I have never seen such eagerness by U.S. vassals to defy their overlord for so long.
Why wouldn’t it be conceivable that Russia gets US made explosives via 3rd party? If I was Russia and wanted to plant a false flag, this is exactly what I would do.
One reason why I'm very skeptical of that though is because reported Russian intel ops over the past decade, even longer, tend to be bungling disasters in one way or another to the point where keen Westerners who closely follow their activities mock GRU and company on social media.
I see it regularly because I troll back my trolls on X, especially my anonymous ones, for amusement. I'll always make a remark about how they hide their identities while insulting me due to some pathological fear that GRU will "get them", to which they rip into GRU as one of the most incompetent intel organizations to ever exist.
I'm not saying that I agree with them -- not at all! -- but there is indeed that very popular impression and I do believe that there's a reason for it, but the impression itself is a gross exaggeration. Nevertheless, I just find it difficult to believe that Russia could pull off something to complicate when it reportedly bungled other plots.
Andrew, you really think that if Russia would have wanted to make a false flag it would have used an explosive branded with a rubber-stamp "made in FSB"?
Hungary is one of the now several Trump vs EU conflicts. The others are Iran and Greenland. Trump is already framing Ukraine as the EU war. If Trump Republicans can hold on to the presidency in 2028, it is possible that the trans-atlantlantic partnership will break apart.
Jovanic pointed out that "the agency [ed. VBA] is not interested in speculative interpretations before the investigation is completed"
That sounds like he's reserving his judgement until he has all the facts, rather then ruling one or the other party out. I guess the take away point there currently is no or not enough evidence to pin this on Ukraine.

They have probably a big backing in US deep state.
Why do you think that this is real? Vučić has a history of staging shows like this one.

Sure, it's hypothetically possible, but it's so convoluted that it becomes much more of a far-fetched conspiracy than the Ukrainian hypothesis.

No, but Russia has an astoundingly poor track record of attempted false flags according to Western reports, for whatever they're worth.
That said, the acts of sabotage that it's accused of organizing via Telegram for paying in cryptocurrency use local explosives as far as I'm aware.
I haven't come across any report these four years that Russia managed to obtain American explosives for use in its alleged sabotage plots.
