He insists that “a new Great Game is not in sight”, mostly because the West supposedly has no such intentions to compete with Russia along its southern periphery due to the existing challenges in competing with it elsewhere, but TRIPP debunks his assessment.
You may often sound like a Cassandra, Andrew, but IMHO I think you are right. let's not make mistakes. Not only Russia, but the whole of humanity is dealing with a group of people who will not rest before they have enslaved the rest of the world and grabbed all the planet's riches. Politicians and influencers should be aware of that and face the truth.
Thanks, Herman, and I do feel like I have the "Cassandra curse" sometimes lol The regrettable reality about most Russian experts, diplomats, and officials is that they have absolutely zero tolerance for contrarian views that defy their expectations or whatever it is that their superiors expect to hear.
For that reason, they totally ignore those who express such views, with the only exception being if they advocate for a more forceful approach to the SMO. Other than that, someone like me is de facto "blacklisted" and "untouchable'. I still do have some friends from the above categories, but they don't publicly associate with me for that reason.
So there are indeed those who listen and are concerned about some of the trends that I've touched upon in my work, but I'll never be invited to speak about them at an event since the foreigners who are invited to them are expected to parrot low-IQ talking points ("Crimea is Russian!", "Zelensky is a Nazi!", etc.), not constructively critique policy.
At this point, candidly speaking, I've developed a macabre fascination with what I genuinely assess to be the symptoms of "Russian decline", which aren't irreversible and I'll always do my best to draw attention to them for the purpose of inspiring policies for reversing them, but they're still plain to see such as is the case with TRIPP.
I've said it before, but I really hope that far-reaching reforms follow the end of the SMO, whenever that'll be and regardless of whatever terms are agreed to. Without them, the symptoms of "Russian decline" will only be exacerbated and this worrying trend will accelerate to the detriment of the World Majority that wants multipolarity.
Andrew, the most worrying in Bordachev case lay in 4 questions:
Why does he say such delirium?
Why except you, nobody says him that this "blindness" is very suspicious?
If the Russian direction is aware, why it doesn't send another big shot publicly attack this crazy "vision"?
If russian direction does nothing against a so dangerous publication, is it possible that it commissioned Bordachev to prepare public opinion at a kind of surrender?
Just yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk came out swinging against TRIPP in an interview with TASS, which I plan to analyze by sometime this weekend.
What you don't usually see in Russian officialdom, however, is calling people out by name. They do it on domestic political talk shows, but they're a circus and I don't take them seriously.
I have no idea, from what I understand, he's a lifelong academic/expert who never had any other job. People like that can be weird, in my experience, and are sometimes divorced from reality since they never really experienced it, instead remaining stuck in books and hypothetical discussions.
Thank you for your frank words, which every one of us commenters can easily imagine.
The good thing is: as long as you're the one being shunned for your Kansandra-like pronouncements, you know you're on the right track.
Thank you for tirelessly providing inspiration every day!
We simply need more of this.
Both regarding geopolitics around Russia and the world.
And also regarding internal Russian affairs, which desperately need the truth.
Because it's not just crucial whether those in power are clever, but whether they are willing to orient themselves toward the truth in people's realities, or not.
And here, we also need to honestly question members of Russia's elite whose daughters post glamorous photos from Dubai, as well as ministers who have failed for years to stop the fatal imbalances in certain sectors of the economy. This has been a major, hidden problem within Russia, especially since the SMO. It was triggered by investors and subversive elements from the West, including those who have remained in power since Yeltsin's time.
Because it's not just crucial whether those in power are clever, but whether they are willing to orient themselves toward the truth in people's lives, or not. -
I have been researching Russia for years now, with a very positive and neutral stance, and I have a feeling that things won't end well if this corrupt Augean stable—the displacement of small businesses in production and trade, as well as the imbalance caused by foreign investors in the real estate market—isn't addressed now.
If this doesn't happen, another issue arises in this article:
That Russia's only remaining option is to "rent" this TRIPP and other colonialist initiatives.
This is because Russia is being bled dry from within.
If Mr. Bordachev had addressed this in this context, he would have been better advised than to publish this one-sided, shoddy article.
Stay vigilant, be cautious, and... better yet, remain Cassandra!
IRAN Russia's friend & America's enemy borders the major "stans" & will not them to go anti-Russia. In the Caucasus are Georgia & Armenisa Christans who need & get Russian protection . against Muslims. RUSSIA WINS in ALL Directions. The West makes mistakes and RUSSIA WINS. As easy as it gets. BRAVO RUSSIA.
1) Western Europe is one of the poorest world regions in raw materials, particularly the all-essential oil and gas. At the same time, her economy is in its greatest part of a transformation type: raw materials are bought from outside the region, transformed by her fine engineers and artisans, then sold as end products.
2) The transformation process requires energy, and in particular cheap and reliable one, such as that sourced by Russia until recently.
3) The EU in its current configuration and inner structure will never return to normal relationships with Russia. The reasons are multiple and mainly based on the state of political “vegetation” of the EU Populus, on one hand, and the Deep State’s desire to keep Russia out of the EU/European affairs, on the other.
4) However, the elites, and in particular the all-prevalent Anglo-American Deep State, are aware of the impossibility of recovering the lost economic ground without the Russian energy.
5) Conclusion: They will try to annoy and damage the Russian position as much as possible, going as far as possible, even provoking localized wars on her periphery. The hope is that the central Russian Government will crack at some time and the much-awaited dismemberment will arrive.
Mr. Putin and those analysts that advocate, or have an attitude of “laisser faire,” vis-à-vis this state of affairs are terribly wrong. Russia has to preempt EVERY attempt to encroach on her sphere of influence NO MATTER HOW BIG the current price may appear to be. The heroic Iran opens the way to confront and win against the wild and utterly putrefied Western world.
But why in front of such a dumb( or suspicious) "blindness", nobody tells him, he's a dangerous "Ganelon".
Ganelon is a character of the old french war song " La Chanson de Roland". The song describe the heroic death of Earl Roland , the nephew of emperor Charlemagne, isolated in mountains with rearguard of imperial army against Sarrasins(Arabs). During the battle, Roland blows his horn to call Charlemagne for rescue. Charlemagne continuously says that it seems he hears the horn, but Ganelon, one of his favorite adviser, says him that no, there is no horn sound. I let you see on wikipédia why Ganelon said that.
TRIPP is a central and integral component in undermining the purpose of China's Belt and Road Initiative and Russia's INSTC. That's why they also want to seize the Strait of Hormuz, to weaken China's import and export of raw materials by sea.

What Mr. Bordachev is postulating could even be suspected of being a narrative commissioned by the CIA. Unfortunately, as a long-time observer, I have to state it in such stark terms.
-
- How else could someone who actually possesses expertise and has written excellent articles arrive at such flawed logic? Offering a dissenting opinion is all well and good. But this was presented as expertise without any credible source. I dislike this approach because it's reminiscent of Western propaganda.

Mr. Bordachev is capable of better. We know that from the past. However, this complete misjudgment, detached from reality, certainly isn't one of them.

Bullseye, Andrew!

For me, it's incomprehensible.

Do you know if there is a big shot or a faction behind Bordachev.
It seems he is not very buddy with Trenine or Patrushev.

Good morning Bagdad Bob.

Right on, Andrew! Will Russia wait again before it is too late? The larger question, is Russia in decline?
Bravo Andrew.

Beautiful poem, but, in reality, the famous ambush in the Pyrenees was conducted mostly by Basques rather than by Saracens.
"...and if Iran is subordinated to the US upon the end of the Third Gulf War..."
Not going to happen.
