Of course. I read the DW article and thought to myself "WTF?"

Eritrea, however might by dint of its geographical positioning be useful in America's wars, and therefore DW seeks to prove its usefulness by buttering up the leadership of Asmara.

its unfortunate that the port infrastructure and access arrangement for Ethiopia at Assab has not yet been agreed and constructed. the competition is legion, and Afwerki must continue to guard eritrea's sovereignty. Tigrayan factions are threats to both Eritrea and Ethiopia. Ethiopia must divide its resources between Assab and Berbera. 90% of ethiopia material exchange goes through Djibouti which is relatively secure. Assab is not just a question of secure transport, Ethiopia needs a secure military and naval base, as does the Horn, so Ethiopia can help integrate the Horn and provide security against various centrifugal and separatist risks. Hopefully both Abiy and Afwerki can each come to bring the large contributions needed and withstand the hostile forces opposed to Horn integration.
