The person best positioned for uniting the country’s fractured opposition was just “politically executed” as part of the latest Western powerplay in this former Soviet Republic.
Hello Andrew. I'm out of topic but do you think to write something about the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia signed in Trump's office in Washington.
Yes I'had read your excellent article. But I didn't realise there was already a meeting scheduled in Washington to sign a peace treaty. What an humiliation for Russia. USA lead a peace agreement between to former Russia state. Terrible.
And more terrible is what il behind.
After the humiliation in Syria, the effect of that on all central Asia can launch domino effect ans seriously compromise Russia's image.
Added to the strategic disaster of blocade of south bound.
Iran of Pezeskian, Kazakhstan will certainly follow.
In the time of the czar, Russia was referred to as "the prison of nations", a multi-ethnic empire, led by an authoritarian, non-elected government. Well, that is exactly what the European Union has now become: a multi-ethnic empire, led by an authoritarian, non-elected government.
Stay out of it, Moldovans, you don't know how happy you are.
I'm 64 years old, passionated by History and I've never heard or read nowhere that Russia was referred as" prison of nations".
Who said such a crap at a time when every western nations ruled huge empires. England ruled Ireland, India, Jamaica, Australia, New Zealand, South and half east of Africa, Birmanie. France, all west African, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Polynesia, Antigua's, Guyana. USA ruled all central and south America, Hawaii, Philippines, Cuba.
Every big countries was a prison of nations at this time.
About EU , it's not the prison of nation, it's the end of nations and peoples.
Thank you. But you know, the old bastard hypocritical son of a bitch was alone to say that.
At the same time he wrote his shits about Russia, his country, France was assassinating 1/3 of the Algerian population and practiced slavery in Caraïbes and south America.
His country is also mine and I'm absolutely not proud of this part of its history.
Colonialism was a crime and the few good things achieved by the colonizers will never be able to erase the scale and monstrosity of the crimes committed.
The fact that all countries committed it , is not an excuses.
Custine is a perfect exemple of the arrogant hypocritical french asshole.
We still build them very good.
Each country have a different kind of asshole who pretend themselves to belong to a so-called elite. Custine is a perfect exemple of the french specimen.
They still pullulate in politic, university and medias.
" Colonialism was a crime and the few good things achieved by the colonizers will never be able to erase the scale and monstrosity of the crimes committed. "
Was colonialism worse then what the Ottoman empire did, the Mongols, the Huns ? , Islamic conquests ?
Austria-Hungary is a much more apt comparison for the EU than Russia before 1918.
Russia had a dominant common culture that provided glue for the empire. Austria-Hungary had nothing.
That's why Russians were able to re-constitute the empire during Communist times. They were able to offer a "you can be part of something bigger" ethos to the republics of the Soviet Union.
Austria-Hungary, once gone, was gone, and nobody looked back.
For reasons nobody can understand, EU decided to prioritize above everything the globohomo agenda of degeneracy, racemixing, and, more recently, war. Whereas basic common sense and study of history shows that if you want to build a durable empire, one should spend several decades consolidating the common identity and the links between the component parts.
Strategy-wise, that's even worse than whatever was passing for internal policy in Austria-Hungary. Whom of the future denizens of the EU, 50 years from now, will feel first and foremost European? The Muslims? The Africans? The children of childless homosexuals that are placed on a pedestal as the role model for Whites?
Do the current rulers of the EU believe that a repressive, unnatural regime can be maintained for decades merely by force, on a broken social contract?
We have arrived to a point in time where it is clear: Democracy’s greatest enemy is democracy. There is the original Democracy with a degree of Populist connections where the traditional social contract still functions; a balance exists between government and people. And there is american democracy, also championed by western european rulers, where population replacement, economic self-mutilation and war-hysteria is enforced by well paid village idiots. This self-destructive process is always financed by central bank systems that are pushing forward, hiding behind the backs of supposed financial geniuses like Soros.
Democracy is the greatest scam perpetuated on humanity. it is the most easily subverted system with inherent self-destruct qualities built in. Thats why its constantly promoted by "the chosen".
The Greek classic version of democracy was functional under those circumstances, as long as they fought very hard to keep it normal. The Greeks were willing to hand down the death penalty to those who substantially violated their political rules. If the delinquent tried to run, they made substantial efforts to catch up with him.
'The worst problem though is that even if we could subvert this 'democratic' systems -and I'm afraid that's no longer possible-, with what should we replace them?'
Are you reading on diagonally or are you one of those Americans who read high school short stories and don't understand the text? I want Russia to win, take Transbustria, which was only Romanian for a few years around 1475, and return to Romania Bugeagul, Moldova, and old Bukovina, along with Chernivtsi, stolen by the Ribbentrop-Molotov treaty. We paid the compensation for crossing the Dniester with 90 tons of gold stolen by the Bolsheviks, plus 15 years of sovroms, when all of Romania's industrial production for 15 years was sent to the USSR. Including entire mountains of uranium, plus the forced labor of Romanians and Moldovans deported to the USSR.
Gutu was nothing more than a destabilizing puppet of Moldova. It's as if a Mexican state established by Hispanics were to proclaim itself in the middle of the USA. Get a grip, author, and read the history of the Republic of Moldova before giving your opinion. You are completely biased and off-topic in this article. It wouldn't hurt to read a little history before writing and spouting nonsense. Are you going to delete my comments forever? Why did Russia eradicate the Crimean Tatars and not give them autonomy? I have nothing against Russia recovering its Black Sea territories, including Transnistria, but it should get its dirty paws off if it thinks about Moldova, which was never Russian territory, even though it represented a strategic territory for Russia, being bordered by two rivers and high hills facing the Ukrainian plains. And if you continue to delete my pertinent comments, either stop with the anti-Moldovan propaganda, I will denigrate you with evidence that you are biased (to put it nicely)
you are stupid The Republic of Moldova has always been a Romanian territory stolen by the Russians for its geostrategic position. You are an uneducated ignoramus
Gutu was nothing more than a puppet of Moskov for the destabilization of Moldova. It's as if a Mexican state were to proclaim itself in the middle of the USA. Take a look, Mr. Author, and read the history of the Republic of Moldova before giving your opinion. In this article, you are completely biased and off-topic. It wouldn't hurt to read a little history before writing and spouting nonsense.
It has been 100% taken over by the EU globohomo regime, like Ukraine
This is not about Romanians vs Russians in there. The Sandu regime heavily supported the globalists during the latest Romanian presidential election, and an ungodly amount of Romanian citizen votes in favor of the globalist candidate materialized in Moldova, materially tilting the Romanian elections. Romanian nationalists were furious about this.
I grew up in Romania, 19 km from the border with Moldova. I am in touch with people in my birthplace, and I read the Romanian press. In Romania, there was great nationalistic enthusiasm towards Moldova in the early 90's, followed by indifference in the years that followed, followed by muted hostility among Romanian nationalists after the Sandu regime meddled in the elections this year.
I do not know of any Romanians who dream of taking over Transnistria (Prednistrovska as the Russians call it I think). The famous Romanian nationalistic poem (Doina, by Mihai Eminescu), that defines the "Greater Romania" in the maximalistic understanding of the word, starts with: "De la Nistru [...]". I.e. even in the most nationalistic dreams and maps as they were in the 1990s, Greater Romania _starts_ at the Dniester, and Transnistria is not seen as part of it. Even the Antonescu regime did not consider Transnistria as part of Romania, and used it as a deportation dumping ground for the Romanian Jews who did not meet work quotas, and for Gypsies. (I should know -- a distant uncle of mine was the governor of Bessarabia during the war).
The border between Transnistria and Moldova was quiet for 30 years. If anyone sees any conflict start there now, it is going to be in order to use Moldovans for the meat grinder and give a reason for deployment of EU forces. Moldovans know this and they are not happy, but they seem to have about as much choice as Ukrainians in this matter.
> The Transnistria thing is for me one of the most opaque enigmas
Yes -- and how has Transnistria even been supplied by the Russians, since the start of the war? Do they fly over Ukrainian airspace, or over NATO's? Do they have trucks allowed to cross the frontline to go to Transnistria? Do they ship them things through the mail?
That, and the quasi-static front line suggests that some kind of secret agreement has been in place since 2022. There are rumors on the internet that Ukraine still kept some of the old Soviet nukes, off the books, and has been squeezing everyone's balls. Maybe shipped some to European capitals? Maybe more than one country in this world has a Samson option.
Hello Andrew. I'm out of topic but do you think to write something about the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia signed in Trump's office in Washington.
Is it so bad that it seems?
Thank you.
I wrote about it earlier this week here:

It's very bad for Russia.

One is never too old to learn. :)
"Who said such a crap?" The first to say this was a Frenchman, marquis de Custine.
BTW: what you say is right, of course. All those colonial empires were prisons of nations.
Thank you. But you know, the old bastard hypocritical son of a bitch was alone to say that.

The term "prison of nations" is commonly used in western historiography with regard to Russia.
Doesn't have to be fair - that is western soft power at work.
It was used by Lenin too, who finally managed to liberate the suffering nations and turn "the prison" into a worker's paradise. (Sarcasm)

In Moldova, the eu is seen as as The Magic Land Where Institutions Basically Worl.

Say no to democracy!

Greek style democracy would never work in a nation of millions. Plus its was never that "democratic" to begin with.
'The worst problem though is that even if we could subvert this 'democratic' systems -and I'm afraid that's no longer possible-, with what should we replace them?'
Try Populism for a change.
So nationalism ?
Populism assumes the existence of the nation-state and is inseparable from nationalism.
yes
Yes, and it works.

No one must give back Moldova to Ottomans. You will be very well in Turkey.
