I’m practical. Modern western society isn’t sustainable. We’ve become an idiocracy for one, and we’ve created enemies who might want to cyberattack us into the Stone Age someday. But modern western people don’t know how to grow or catch their own food and in a state of nature most of these artificial urban clones wouldn’t survive. For those who aren't herd thinkers, guns are useful tools that can be used to defend oneself and one’s family as well as hunt food. Hence, every kid should be trained to use them but with respect and responsibility as a matter of basic survival skills. It also would teach people a mentality that is a little more self-reliant, which the west needs right now, particularly Europe.
Since there are practically no wild animals in europe other than pigeons and rats, I am not sure that hunting would do the euroweenies much good.

I see a general push toward increased state control and militarization, triggered by US/NATO expansions and wars. And this is only the beginning.
