If hungarian electors are dumb enough to be influenced by such a bullshit, nobody can't anything for them.
If some foreign secret service, with this kind of craps, is preparing a coloured revolution if Orban wins, I ask myself what country can be behind that?. Considering that Germans don't live a finger without being seen and agreed by US services, and considering that currents leaders in USA are pro-Orban, remain only little solutions.
Either:
- only France or UK can be behind this operation.
- Trump and Vance don't control totality of US agencies.
Understand. But who are all these intelligence agencies without their front-end perpetrators?
-
Today's media networks are almost exclusively perpetrators.

The same principle that led Nebuchadnezzar to establish his satrapy.

Without it, a king was usually not very influential, or his throne was always in danger, unless he had everyone he disliked killed outright.

The EU relies heavily on media propaganda - which, as is well known, pursues a dual agenda in Europe. Intelligence agencies like the CIA organize the direction and financing.

If you can still keep track of all this, with the more than a dozen players involved, my sincere congratulations!

Although the situation with Orban/Szijjarto/Fico is very clear to me, I honestly don't think I've fully grasped it. It's quite possible that the EU with the SBU and the USA with the CIA are now competing here, even though they're probably cooperating in the next country over.

That would probably be nothing new even at the intelligence service level, but for an outsider it would be pretty crazy.
It seems to be mostly MI6 that feel entitled to try manipulating Eastern Europe so my bet would be on GCHQ doing the intercepts. Though if they could get near to Orban’s phone, any of the spy agencies could have done it.
To take a six-month-old phone call out of context, misuse it for propaganda, and then even try to influence an election is not just typical of the German tabloid BILD, but rather the transatlantic media pattern.
When you think back to the quality Bloomberg once possessed and then witness its subsequent descent into the erosion of any moral or ethical code, one fears the future of mainstream media in the age of AI less and less.
The really bad news is: AI is learning the level of Bild (a German tabloid newspaper) because AI has learned how to manipulate the masses. Bild will remain Bild.
Stupid people will become even stupider because they will rely on AI just as they currently rely on the mainstream media and buy the Bild newspaper. Everywhere. The discount kiosks are always empty.
«a foreign intelligence agency compromised the Hungarian government’s security communications for months and maybe years»
Probably happened decades ago. Hackery works but bribery too: it is entirely possible that the transcript has been purchased from some hungarian government official who is keen to bet that Orban is going to lose the elections.
I haven't read the whole article, just to make a point: "Far from what the abovementioned title of Bloomberg’s most popular summarized report of the transcript implied, Orban wasn’t subserviating himself to Putin but helping Trump organize the US leader’s proposed American-Russian Summit in Budapest." Who's going to read the actual transcript...? As such, what will be believed, Bloomberg's article or Orban's word...? Just saying.

Trump and Vance don't control the media.
With the war crimes in the USrael-Iran War, they've lost their potential defectors.
That's why I'm not so sure Vance's visit was helpful to Orban. I see it more as a disadvantage.
I didn't spoke about medias but three letter agencies, CIA, DIA, NSA and 13 others.

Hungarians? Maybe more clever. Maybe.
