For the record: I haven't watched, listened to, or read any MSM for a very long time now, but while having lunch with an acquaintance just two days ago, he summarized for me in a few words and with enthusiasm (he doesn't know my opinion and, given my age and socio-professional level, he probably thinks I'm a good French-style Russophobe) the latest news from the country's "serious" media. I was stunned by such a level of nonsense. Judge for yourself:

· The Russians are retreating everywhere

· The Russians have suffered 1.5 million losses (KIA, WIA, POW)

· Putin had some of his properties destroyed because they were indefensible against drones.

· Putin lives in hiding and in anguish

· He has 1,000 bodyguards.

He was thrown off by my laughter, to tears. Then I told him that if Russia was in a delicate position, it was absolutely not at that level. I showed him the map from the Ukrainian site "DeepState" which shows Russian advances everywhere and Ukrainian advances nowhere. I showed him a few public appearances of Putin in recent days and I showed him that the personal protective service of the US president exceeds 2,000 people.

He didn't say another word during the meal. Annoyed, with a pinched nose, looking at me askance as if he had just discovered that I was an absolutely unsavoury type, and we parted coldly. A usual scene for the past four and a half years.

In related news, just this morning, ChatGPT dared to assert to me that the Russians had put pressure on the EU with energy at the start of the war.

It also tells me that the Russians have carried out acts of sabotage and cyber-hacking in the West.

When I asked it to provide me with a sourced list, as usual, it provided nothing but rumours provided in so-called studies by so-called US academics. Pathetic.

The worst part is that DeepSeek, although Chinese, is even worse at dragging the Russians through the mud on the basis of the worst Western lies.

It doesn't matter. The world will continue to ignore Russia and will take anything Kiev says, no matter how ludicrous, at face value.
