The only correct way to reveal the whole truth about WWII is by organizing a real trial... That is: a fair trial, with neutral judges. Not trials like the Nürnberg tribunals, where one party, dressed up as judges, judged the other party.

Just imagine that it happens to you. You have a row with your neighbor. He accuses you of all kinds of crimes. You have to appear in court, and what do you see there? The judge is... your neighbor, dressed in a black robe. What would you think of such a "trial?"

Andrew, I don’t know if you’ve seen Lavrov’s latest remarks. They clearly cast a grim light on all our questions about Putin’s apparent restraint.

In any case, these statements completely contradict any idea that the Russian leadership is reckless or naive.

Lavrov is clear: Europe is preparing for a full-scale war against Russia within five years, and Ukraine is just a way to drain Russian resources before the confrontation. He adds that it’s no longer even a proxy war — it’s out in the open — and concludes that Russia must prepare.

So perhaps Putin believes that firmness is no longer of any use, and for reasons we don’t yet know, Russia (and China) wants to buy time by keeping a low profile and absorbing the blows, while relying as little as possible on resources in Ukraine — which has become a secondary theater, where a military resolution would solve nothing and only be exhausting.

What do you think?
