The possibility of strong-arming Russia toward terms it doesn't desire is receding rapidly by the day. Not only due to headway on the battlefield, but with its economy, social stability & geo-political strength. We'll see what posturing Trump does, if any & whether he will be able to follow through. We all might have learned by now that the cardboard cutout called "president" is only a place holder for the actual policy makers. If minerals are actually being mined from Ukraine at this time, it is due to permission by Russia. Yes, we know Blackrock has high stakes in Ukraine & certainly intends to capitalize on them but it will ultimately be at Russia's behest, which could be the ultimate "Trump card."

To de-nazify and neutralize Ukraine I think Russia should take it all,(but they won't) then split the country in two, half Russian, the other half Ukrainian. Set rules for the new Ukraine like no military, no NATO, and no weapons above bullet strength. Russia would have a huge buffer zone against NATO and gain valuable real estate that would easily finance the cost of the SMO and profit over the long term while NATO lost an entire proxy army and hundreds of billions in cash and real estate.
