Counting beans is useless. European NATO does not have 1,500 combat aircraft, not by a long shot. France, nominally, has 240. In fact, barely a hundred operational. You should know that France, Germany, and England combined have fewer operational combat aircraft....than Israel: fewer than 300. The others can field 10 to 30.

In total, that must represent around 6-700 combat aircraft, including old crates.

Knowing that at least half must remain available for surveillance and protection of territory, that makes 300 or 400 aircraft.

Furthermore, the war in Ukraine proves that air defense systems are so effective that not a single aircraft approaches the enemy's airspace.

Sikorsky is an imbecile. Like a huge number of Polish politicians, like a huge number of Western politicians.

This degeneration of our political class is becoming an immense danger for us.

I do not recall in history a moment when leaders and their henchmen were so cretinous. Perhaps in the Renaissance era.

Many European politicians feel rather powerful believing that their nuclear powered NATO members and the USA will stand up for them regardless what they cook up. In my judgment France and England will think more than three times to go to their defenses in case things get truly serious and out of hand. They would also do well to turn to their own court historians and ask them a realistic review of the 1918 to 1922 period when a dozen nations sent expeditionary forces into Soviet-Russia. The country at the time was in the middle of a major division, political and military as well. They still managed to send the intruders home. The Japanese were the most aggressive advancing with 60,000 soldiers all the way to the east side of Lake Baikal disregarding the casualties they had to take. At the end it was the US who ordered them to go home. Fact is that by the end of 1922 they all learned their lessons and left. NATO sending in a traditional army into Ukraine/Russia would very likely go toward the same unhappy ending. My best guess is that Russia would start using nuclear weapons on its own territory in case of a major intrusion.
