I didn't need the SVR to tell me any of that. It's like a fortune cookie that says "Soon, you'll be done with dinner!"

The question is- what does Russia propose to do about it?

How about changing the pricing scheme to define "delivery" as leaving Russian oil terminals, and buyers are responsible for shipping? Russia will lose some customers and significant sales, and drive the oil price a lot higher. If the Europeans can endure that, then we are in for a slower-burn oil crisis, as the UK/NATO will not attack EVERY oil ship. If they don't attack oil purchased by India, then Europe would still have some oil. Yes, this will drag the whole world slowly into warring camps. But at least this path is slower than fast-paced nuclear escalation.
