Readers can learn a lot about his administration’s internal policymaking dynamics, its relationship with Israel, and its overall approach towards the Yemeni Conflict.
I'd love to read it but I can't make myself pay the Atlantic even $1. This whole scandal smells like shit. Like you said it's wildly embarrassing, hell im embarrassed for MW. I like the guy and think he's a genuinely patriotic American. But of all the "journalists" to accidentally include in this chat... Goldberg? That guy lies for a living and has zero credibility I can't see he and MW having a secret working relationship but I could be wrong. According to an interview mw gave last night goldbergs number was saved as a different name entirely on his signal account. I think it's much more likely Goldberg created a bogus account name with someone from the admin name under his real number in the hopes that something like this would happen. Far fetched sure but not as far fetched as MW secretly having some kind of working relationship with a man who's life's mission has been to discredit the admin he works for by lying through his teeth at every opportunity. Why couldn't they include Andrew K instead so we can at least believe all of what we're reading is true.
I guess at the end of the day it doesn't really matter how he ended up on that chat. He did and that's some amateur hour bs. The only good thing that came out of it is that we know not everyone is on board with dropping bombs and is willing to say out loud that doing so is kind of the opposite of what we were promised on the campaign trail. "No unnecessary foreign entanglements"...?
It smells of Watergate's Deep Throat. IE someone from the IC on purpose created an account to which Goldberg then had access. Hence, Russia's as well as Israel's caution of communicating with the US admin.
Vance was opposed to the strikes on Yemen for the wrong reason. He thought they were in aid of the European trade through the Suez Canal, which they are, but the main reason is because the Houthi blockade is the most effective action taken against Israel since it began its latest genocidal campaign.
Vance was correct in that a shutdown of the Suez Canal impacts Europe far more than it does the US, but he doesn't mention the elephant in the room--Trump's Israel First foreign policy that puts Americans Last.
It is so cynical that the U.S., and its self proclaimed president of peace, would justify the bombing and killing of Yemen on the groundless basis of "wanting to send a message". They don't even know what message they would be sending.
The second hypocritical act of the U.S. is that they are fighting to secure freedom of navigation. The Houthis aren't preventing all shipping from getting through. They are only blocking shipping that is heading to Israel or under countries that support Israel.
This is in support of the Palestinians who Israel had blockade from receiving water, food, electricity, medical supplies and who Israel is committing genocide against by bombing the Palestinians.
Meanwhile the U.S. is planning strategically on how to prevent China from exercising freedom of navigation. America's bid for Greenland is central to cutting off China and Russia from having freedom of movement on the seas. The U.S. is also building its military bases right around China in China's own backyard and on Taiwan which the U.S. acknowledges belongs to China under its One China policy. Blackrock recent purchasing of the ports on both sides of the Panama Canal is also for the purpose of barring Chinese shipping in the Western hemisphere and around the world where Blackrocks other ports are located.
The Houthis weren't attacking shipping until the Israelies renewed their attack on Gaza. And for this reason, of America's and Israel's own making, the U.S. is of course again looking to extort money from the Europeans and to impose the taking in of Palestinians on the Egyptians.
This whole problem could easily be solved by Trump if he were to bring Netaanyahu to heel by stopping arms shipments to Israel until Netaanyahu ended his blockade. But Trump won't do that because he supports Israeli genocide.
This is the country and president you believe Putin should partner with and join his country in friendship. You either forget or are unaware of the fact that one of the other plans that the U.S. has for Ukraine is to turn it into a dysfunctional nation like Afghanistan on Russia's borders. It's either that or plant itself and its businesses in Afghanistan as a security guarantee against another Russian attack. Either one you choose the U.S.'s clearly malign intent towards Russia is still exposed.
Ukraine must be restored as a neutral buffer region without any Western presence or E.U. membership. No Blackrock, Vanguard, Western embassies or N.G.O.'s.
Ukraine and Russia must be left alone to work together on healing the rift between them that has been created by the West.
The "spy movie" dwarf living in my head says there is another possibility: Mike Waltz left his Signal account access to his secretary, who used Mike Waltz's device or ID without Mr. Waltz even noticing it. Or, somebody hacked the Signal servers. However, given that the Biden admin has demonstrated the quality deterioration in cabinet ministers, it is hard to see how GOP, RINO, or even MAGA folks hold significant quality advantage. And if the whole thing is but a clever plot, then the admin did not have to risk the sacrifice of a cabinet-level official to fake a leak. There is always the "anonymous federal official" on standby for such tasks. If Mike Waltz really added the wrong person by mistake, then who was the original one Mr. Waltz intended to add? Corruption in government is one thing, but incompetence is totally another dimension.
In it she stated that Goldberg is CIA, that is why he was included in the chat.
She wrote, "Only this time - I believe that Goldberg thought he had something he could use against Team Trump at the upcoming hearings so he leaked it right away. He pretended that Team Trump was talking top-secret war plans on Signal when nothing mentioned was classified. His plan was to turn this into Signal-Gate - just like Watergate or Russia-Russia."
She wrote further that Trump knew that Goldberg would do just that-because "Goldberg is a snake." "They leaked Goldberg something that helped them communicate to the EU that they weren't happy. Goldberg KNOWS he was duped - that's why he's pissed."
"All the RINOs, Democrats and Koch Libertarians are trying to get Hegseth and Waltz fired over this. That’s how you tell which side they are really on.
"What will happen now? After all the theater dies down - Elon will likely REVISE the way Team Trump communicates outside of a SCIF and get rid of Signal.
"That was Trump's goal all along. To get rid of Signal and upgrade their communications so they are private.
"What will happen then? The CIA won't be able to listen into Team Trump's private conversations."
This is a different interpretation of events from that of almost everyone else who has written about "Signalgate."
It indicates that this is not about the Trump administration having egg on their face, but on a deliberate effort to expose the snakes either in the CIA, deep state, and uniparty in Congress.
From the point of view of the uniparty in Congress, it was clear they wanted to make a huge deal out of it and make the Trump Administration look bad.
But if Trump did this deliberately to expose a lot of snakes at once, it is the snakes who are going to end up looking bad.
Trump does not try to appear "Presidential" because looking "Presidential" usually means saying a lot and giving little information about how he feels. He has always opted for being open and clear about his feelings. Maybe not about everything, but about major issues facing the nation.
For the same reason, I don't think he's worried about his staff looking unprofessional. He IS concerned about his staff being loyal to him and to his agenda, which is to return America to a Constitutional Republic and destroy the globalist deep state which control the CIA and many parts of the federal bureaucracy.
His focus is on what is good for the American people and the country. In order to accomplish what he wants to, he needs to expose all those trying to undermine his efforts.
The entire episode appears to have been a trap set for Goldberg, and also a warning to other snakes: "try to make my administration look bad and you'll be the ones with egg on your face."
At the same time as I agree with Peggy Tierney I think Mr. Korybko raised important points to keep in mind as events unfold in the Middle East.
The major problem in Israel is not Bibi Netanyahu's relationship with Trump. The major problem is what Andrew Korybko pointed out: the Israeli deep state hates Bibi just like the US deep state hates Trump. Also the top brass in the military: defense and security agencies were responsible for the intelligence lapses that led to October 7th. Those involved in procuring weapons etc. from the US have deep ties to the US deep state, they are progressives and they blame everything on conservatives like Bibi. They have worked to undermine Israel's security and need to be cleaned out.
Strangely, no one asks how come the Atlantis paid mouthpiece is not indicted on the same charges as Snowden, Assange or that cross-dresser chap (name escapes me now).
Trump likes a good gambit. I would not exclude this as a possibility
"One of the arguments that Hegseth shared for going through with this now instead of waiting a few weeks or a month like Vance suggested was that “Israel takes an action first – or Gaza cease fire falls apart – and we don’t get to start this on our own terms.” This is notable since it implies that the US doesn’t expect Israel to coordinate its “action(s)” in Yemen or give advance notice to the US of its plans to resume full-scale hostilities in Gaza, which could trigger more regular tit-for-tat Houthi-Israeli attacks."
This confirms that the Israeli tail does in fact wag the American dog.
the Clinton scandal involver her own set up of a personal unsecured server in her bathroom, where I guess NOBODY would want to look. It involved the use of unsecured phones being used to discuss classified matters. The app Trump was using was a secure app, encrypted. The scandal is how the man at the top of the political rag "The Atlantic," was added to the list. A mistake? How does that happen and why would anyone in that group be in touch with him?
I beg to disagree. Human mistakes happen, who is without fault may throw the first stone. The real scandal is for government members to use a communication medium that does not record the exchange in the first place. That didn't happen accidentally. It's legally proscribed to record this kind of communication, and failure to do so could worst case lead to impeachment.

That is probably the most likely scenario.

Yes, I realize I just could have stayed quiet and send a warning to tech support but my accountant said there was zero cash coming for that.

Er, “security”… they’ve heard of it.
No security is secure from erroneous leaks or hubris.
