Suddenly we see a long line of nations lining up to cash in after the Ukraine war stops, if it ever stops. The US/NATO/Ukraine coalition is literally motivating the Russian Federation the carry on this war forever as Russia does not want to see any form of Western intrusion. If the Russian armies manage to take Odessa the incoming outside help can be mitigated for Ukraine and the war can be kind of semi frozen against the decimated country.
Poland is simply doing what any serious nation must: putting its own interests first. After years of costly goodwill yielding little in return, Warsaw is finally waking up to the reality that power and influence flow to those who seize opportunities, not to those who merely "stand in solidarity." In the ruthless game of postwar reconstruction, sentimentality is a losing strategy. Poland has every right—and every reason—to ensure it profits from Ukraine’s rebuilding, just as others have been doing behind closed doors. Survival and relevance in Europe demand nothing less.
