The Russian Ambassador To India Shared Some Quick Insight Into Bilateral Relations
The special and privileged Russian-Indian Strategic Partnership is among the most pivotal axes of stability in the increasingly chaotic global systemic transition to multipolarity.
Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov was interviewed by the Press Trust of India on Sunday, during which time he shared some quick insight into bilateral relations. He condemned the hypocrisy behind the US-led West criticizing his host’s import of discounted Russian oil when they themselves are also still buying his country’s energy, which can be interpreted as a subtle nod to Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar’s recent defense of these pragmatic transactions.
Ambassador Alipov then briefly touched upon how the EU unilaterally conceded on its objective interests upon submitting to its American patron’s demands to sanction Russia, hence why Brussels is now scrambling to replace its lost imports from that Great Power and thus “trigger an escalation of energy prices for the rest of the globe.” India, he said, shouldn’t have to pay for that and he’s right. In fact, India is actually benefit from everything by wisely using the opportunity to boost ties with Russia.
Bilateral trade across the first six months of the year totaled $11.1 billion, which he’s confident will lead to an historical record by the end of the year. Although energy is at the forefront of this year’s astronomical spike thus far, Ambassador Alipov also expressed optimism that bilateral trade will continue comprehensively diversifying as Indian companies take advantage of the vacuums left by the departure of Western firms from the Russian market.
While non-sanctions banks can still conduct transactions in dollars or euros, Russia and India are prioritizing the de-dollarization of trade ties through the use of national and third-country currencies. On a closing note, Russia’s top diplomat in Delhi praised his hosts for their pragmatic and understanding stance towards the latest US-provoked phase of the Ukrainian Conflict. His final words were a pledge to “Achiev[e] undivided security, equal multi-polarity and democratisation of global governance”.
Ambassador Alipov’s latest interview didn’t contain any new insight, but it was nevertheless a handy summary of the state of bilateral relations thus far for those who haven’t been paying that much attention. Importantly, it came just days after US-influenced (if not -controlled) media manipulated two UN-related developments to spew fake news about the state of their ties. Quite clearly, those artificially manufactured scandals were only relevant in cyberspace and had no bearing on bilateral relations.
The special and privileged Russian-Indian Strategic Partnership is among the most pivotal axes of stability in the increasingly chaotic global systemic transition to multipolarity. It’ll never be adversely affected by any third parties nor their information warfare campaigns. To the contrary, foreign meddling has resulted in them forging an even stronger bond than ever before because both realized just how significant their ties are in the global sense if the US is so desperately trying to weaken them.
