Yesterday, Macron was in Poland with Tusk, laying out exactly what you had predicted regarding what he plans to put in place in terms of nuclear protection. It’s horrifying. French aircraft carrying French nuclear bombs stationed in Poland—horrifying. Most of the serious press is so dismayed that they aren’t even talking about it. Nope. Ukrainians lived kind of in peace under the Polish rule until Khmelnitzki in mid-17th century or so. It was oppressive, but then, it was oppressive everywhere across the world then.

The Ukrainians, just like the Mexicans in the US , will never assimilate because of the close proximity of their own country. They can just travel back and forth and get the " best of both worlds". Additionally, if enough Ukrainians, just like the Mexicans, settled near the Ukrainian border they will demand some type of autonomy or union with Ukraine. They need to be forced out of Poland immediately.
The Poles have no choice. They are comitted to their anti-Russian stance, so they will swallow the Ukrainian claims, even though disgusted. It was the same with the US after WW2 - they needed to accommodate Western Germany, so they released every Nazi criminal still in detention after 1950.
I am a bit sceptical though if Ukrainian action against Poland as the whole rises to the level of genocide unlike that with Jews. Ethnic cleansing accompanied with mass massacres would be more objective. After all, lots of Poles could flee to Poland. After WW2 Poles themselves also did a lot of ethnic cleansing. Not just against the Germans in East Prussia, Silesia and Pommerania, but also against Ukrainians, Belorussians and of course the few remaining Jews. For example the well-researched massacre in Kielce in 1946.
