Is it not Pepe Escobar who claimed one or two years ago that Saudis were lost for USA and was now a BRICS member and a close China-Russia ally????

All AMC sang this song.

But sure Kazan( where saoudis didn't came) was a triumph.

Lol yeah, and prior to that, he was obsessing over calling him "bonesaw" or whatever in homage to that suspected deep state puppet Khashoggi who MBS supposedly ordered killed and cut up

What is interesting is that he is like a compass showing....south.

You have just to know that and you can be sure that what's happening is exactly the contrary of what he say and it's the same for his predictions.

Precious tool actually.

He is my tool for international affairs.

I have another for US internal affairs, a brave jester called Howard Kunstler. I read it carefully for years now because without mistake, almost perfectly, absolutely all his predictions screw up. If Escobar is paid for that, Kunstler only believe in his dreams.

You, Andrew are far more harsh but very often right. Alas.

Thanks, and exactly, that's one of the reasons why I still follow his work, the other being to know which narratives "Non-Russian Pro-Russians" are being brainwashed to believe at any given time.

AMC "analysts" often say that pro-NATO analysts, planners and leaders live in a parallel world often very distant to reality. And it's perfectly true.

However, years after years, dismayed, I've realised that themselves often live in a parallel world of chimera too.

Kunstler has a talent for writing clever phrases, but not for predictions.

I don't count the hundred times he swore that "those powerful folks will be dragged in front of a judge and go to jail" and absolutely nothing happend.

Or " all the folders will go out and it will be terrible". Nothing, never.

His last delirium about Trump and Venezuela is pathetic.

This man can't accept that all he believed about his country was bullshit and lies. Each time, he discover something new but he want to still believe and for 10 years now, I read him go down and down. But he still believe.

Kunstler has an especially bad case of wishful thinking, going back at least 20 years to when he was predicting dire consequences resulting from Y2K and Peak Oil.

It's in the best interests of Mid-East regional stability for Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with Israel. Also, it's prudent for all nations to expand their ties to the U.S., Russia, China, and India. Finally, preventing Turkey from reviving the Ottoman Caliphate would be helpful to the US., Russia, China, and India.

Darras's avatar

Regional stability??? It's a joke?

Your "regional stability" means letting Israël do what it wants, kill who he wants, bomb what it wants , take the land it wants, destroy the countries it wants and shut the fuck up in looking down.

It's your vision of stability?

Ok, with the same idea, for the european stability, it would be good that Russia goes out from Ukraine, let USA and european minions coming back like in the Elstine's years to tear the country and send again the prettiest russian girls in the brothels of whole world.

Marc Handelsman's avatar

Mid-East regional stability is no joke. De-escalating tensions and preventing another world war must be a priority.

Darras's avatar

For who?

At what price?

It's precisely this kind of "stability" which bring war and destruction.

There will never be peace in the Middle East as long as Israel is there, because they would never ever allow their neighbor, or their neighbor's neighbor, to be strong.

Saudi is an exception because of its relationship with the US.

Ransom Frank Glew's avatar

Considering the track record of the F-35 (cost overruns and questionable performance) the Saudis may find them to be more of a curse than an asset...

Darras's avatar

Everybody knows that this flying iron is only the best US tool of international racket.

I see the benefit in not buying all the pro-Russia/China cheerleading that they are kicking ass and taking names. But, your acceptance of the TRIPP and IMEC projects as done deals is buying into U.S./Trump promises vs. reality. INSTC is actually operational. IMEC and TRIPP are basically MOUs.

If I were Aliyev and Pashinyan, I would be saying, "show me the money." Same with Tokayev.
