It all started with the Godfather movie: ‘Give him an offer he can’t refuse’. Then it was applied to diplomacy. The offers are spread around wide and far all over and what worries me one day some nations come to their senses and start refusing the offers.

Burkina Faso under Traore is engaging in all sorts of measures that actually benefit its population. Examples: ban on imports of plastic trash, ban on single use plastic bags, emphasizing STEM education, ban on raw cotton exports, getting investment from China for factories to process cotton domestically, seized mining operations, aside from French and Americans also kicked out Israelis (suspected of coordinating with Islamist terrorists), moving toward gold/commodity-backed currency, building up rail and highway infrastructure without going further in debt to IMF, providing real help to farmers, etc. In short, asserting that the country's resources belong to and should be developed by and for their own people.

Most of the above is working and all sacrilegious to western globalists. And would be bad enough confined to one country - but BF is not only developing ties with its Sahel neighbors but the person of Traore himself and the BK development model are gaining attention, interest and respect in other areas of Africa - not an attractive prospect for old or would-be imperialists. (BF's development model not only runs counter to the Western/globalist approach, but also to China's debt trap colonialism...)

This approach succeeding in BK, the Sahel and elsewhere in Africa would be a huge plus for people there and also act indirectly to stem immigrant flows to Europe - we should hope they can pull it off.
