Congo is a great US diplomatic success.

28 years ago, France held this country tightly through its man: Mobutu.

After the Anglo-Saxons removed Rwanda from french sphère with an awful bloodbath, they send their man Kabila against Mobutu. 10 millions death after( but who care?) France is out and USA play the peace maker after having dive this land in an hell on earth. 12 or 13 millions death( who care?), dozens millions of rapes, mutilations, deported, uprooted, were worth for an US control on this country ressources.

But who care that martyr? Have you heard anybody, any country, any organisation raised against the worst crime against humanity since the WW2?

Who care?

Agreed, I'll never forget when I was younger and learned about the full extent of what happened in the DRC over the years. I recall reading about in the morning newspaper with my grandfather before grade school but had no idea at the time it was so bad.

Trumps attention is fickle I’m afraid. I doubt that there’s enough buy-in from the state department to create any permanent policies.

The US policy toward that place is absolutely perennial. It last since 35 years.

Probably as "peaceful" as the West's "peaceful" balkanization of Yugoslavia.

Or that of the middle east.

make rwanda and burundi a tutsi state instead, with populations from the two and congo, and leave congo alone! hutu are already in congo and they are discriminated in rwanda and burundi, so "peace" would mean another genocide - a hutu one! and you will be wrong to think this would be justice for the tutsi one; the tutsi deeds would make for at least two other.

I'm familiar with the narrative of blaming Israel but don't believe that it's credible. Rather, it comes off as yet another ideologically driven conspiracy theory to score political points as part of the never-ending "blood feud" between Israel and its enemies, including those without any direct stake in West Asia but who voluntarily devote enormous amounts of their free time to criticizing Israel.

I'd prefer not to turn my comments section into a poster board for people to discuss those theories that I personally consider to be ridiculous and which detract from the intellectual focus of my page. You can talk about it on X all you want, just please not here. Thanks.
