After Ukraine, Poland is comparatively cheap in terms of soldier costs. Romania and Bulgaria are possibly even cheaper than Poland, but they are less reliable.
The only important Western arms manufacturers are the US and France. All other manufacturing countries in the West are US clients, and the osmosis is complete between their manufacturers and those in the US. This obviously excludes gadgets such as exploding phones and the like. Since becoming more active internationally after the end of the 2nd WW, the Germans, at least their political leadership, took it upon themselves to ingratiate themselves with the state of Israel for obvious historical reasons. The German arms-buying accounts are used to hide from the German public the huge financial "help" destined for the former. The French are really sour that their weapons are not given more attention in relation to those from the US. South Korea and Israel may also serve as decoys for US manufacturers, thus preserving the “entente” inside the EU and the German-French couple (?).
"Three details that most observers missed."
Most observers, but not Andrew Korybko...😉 Good job, Andrew!
Thank you, Herman!
I am a bit surprised at all three changes.
How do you want to build a real Europe with those polish b... who buy Asian and US weapons with our money.
Should they buy US weapons ?
With European monney, they should buy European weapons.
We gave more than 400 billions dollars in 25 ans. Damned beggars.
Why is the EU giving money so that Poland builds up a huge military ? Why not use it for their own ? Easy answer.
After Ukraine, Poland is comparatively cheap in terms of soldier costs. Romania and Bulgaria are possibly even cheaper than Poland, but they are less reliable.
In other words , they're setting Poland up to take the "hits", not giving money out of altruism.
Actually, both Israel and Russia are seen unfavorably by the EU, as well as by Türkiye. So there are considerable common interests.

French weapons didn't work that well in the India-Pakistan conflict.
