Exactly, it's the complete opposite mentality of my own as well. It's the whole "hear no evil, see no evil" mindset. It really makes me uncomfortable that nobody of any importance here apart from Overchuk that one single time has drawn attention to how threatening TRIPP is for Russia.

Yes, that's possible. Russians are VERY SENSITIVE to the perception -- whether sincerely expressed by someone or shared just to insult them -- that various figures and information products allegedly convey what the state actually thinks through "plausibly deniable" means.
Without getting into detail, Sputnik was like that a few times when I worked there from 2014-2019. There was one time where I was preparing to produce a program about a certain country whose leader had just visited Moscow and a team memeber said they hope that the guests won't be too critical of that country.
I laughed it off because I was writing positively about the expansion of their ties up till then and reminded them too that I can't control what a guest says! Anyhow, I reassured them, the questions that I planned to ask them had nothing to do with the scandals that this certain country was previously embroiled in.
I thought it odd because it was one of the very rare times when they ever suggested something to me as opposed to just letting me do everything 100% on my own as was the norm like 99.99% of the time. I concluded that they feared that the country's representatives would misinterpret guest criticism as "state-backed".
I understand that in a sense since it's a publicly financed platform, but publicly financed DOES NOT always mean "state-run", and I can confidently declare that nobody in the government was "running" my shows or articles that I published at Sputnik at the time (I of course can't speak for others though).
That said, if the country was so sensitive as the team member suggested that they'd misinterpret a non-Russian guest's hypothetical criticism on a publicly financed Russian media platform as "state-backed", then Russia could just politely remind them that this isn't the case and that's just how media works.
They clearly didn't even want to risk that though, ergo their extraordinarily rare suggestion to me, which stayed with me till now (this was 2017-2018 if memory serves me right so almost a decade ago). At the same time, this approach clearly isn't evenly applied since there's A LOT of criticism of some Russian partners like India (which was not the country in question) on publicly financed media nowadays.
Anyhow, what it instilled with me is the belief that Russians can sometimes be very, very sensitive about how certain countries perceive information products coming from the country, ESPECIALLY if the person or platform is in any way "state-adjacent" at the very least, not to mention an actual public employee or government institution.
Is there no real (nationalist) opposition in Russia except these careful analysts? The Communist Party which seem to be waking up, tired of playing the role of a controlled opposition? What chances do they have in the September elections?
