To be an oil hub for a big power don't make a country a great power.

To be be the little bitch of a big power don't make a country a great power.

The third army of NATO, only in counting beans don't make a country a great power.

90 % of Poles industry belong to foreign countries.

More than half of Poland economy belong to foreign countries and was put there because it was less expensive.

A GDP of 1000 billions dollar don't make a country a big power.

A country which is forced to send millions of workers abroad to send money home is not a great power.

A country which don't make it's own weapons, planes, guns, tanks, is not a great power.

UK, France, Germany and even Japan, which are three, four, five time powerful than Poland are no more great powers for decades. It's only a servile relay of imperial US power, a minion. No more.

If US decide to act otherwise, Poland is nothing.

If West Europe decide to isolate Poland, Poland is nothing. Like Beaumarchais said: "the servant thinks he is the master".

Even if France and Germany would collapse and become shit holes because of massive immigration and sink in chaos, poverty, corruption, Poland would only be a golden minion. Not a great power.

Only 90%? Poland is going to do something about that!

A Pole can imagine no greater honor than being some American's or european's little bitch.

Darras I agree with you and like the way you wrote about what these countries are.

LNG is much more expensive then Russian pipline gas. Polsnd coming up to the U K economicaly is not much as the UK is a poor country. Poland hving the 3rd largest army in NATO is of NO value. Russia is a nuclear SUPER POWER and can blow Poland off the map in a few hours. Poland likes to toy with the idea that they are great. No they as ordinary as one can be.

Mr Korybko has my respect and gratitude for his consistent reporting of facts and analysis, but his persistent opining on "Poland becoming a great power (again)" is troublesome. Is it sarcasm, or part of a baiting operation to encourage Poland's self destruction?

A great power has to control it's lifeline imports (energy, raw material), an autonomous powerbase (ability to sustain force through industry, economy and sheer numbers), freedom of action and be recognised and respected as a power by neighbours who accommodate its security needs. Poland does not qualify, even The UK, France and Germany don't qualify, or even the EU altogether.

What I see is a tool, a human shield. Ukraine was used as a battering ram against Russia's Theodosian walls, and is being shattered. The Baltic micro-states and Poland are having their Russophobia weaponised in the same way and are the next tools of pressure. For the UK they get to "stay engaged" with Europe post Brexit, and at little cost to themselves have other things fight for their strategic objectives (low chance if success with high danger to the Tools). Poland is having it's ego stroked, the EU destabilised and more capital seeking safety in London. Germany can use Poland as a "human shield" and let Poland overplay it's hand, end up "getting Ukrained" and then regain more autonomy of maneuver in Central and Eastern Europe .

Kill off the white population and replace them with Africans ?

One would hope that the Trump - Orban love fest over energy supplies does not backfire such that Orban could lose the next parliamentary elections because of anti-Trump sentiment growing in Hungary.

Germany and Poland manoeuvring for hegemony in Central Europe. What’s the countdown to another war? 30 years? 20?

barnabus's avatar

Germany is not in a position to manoeuver for hegemony in Central Europe. Nor is, frankly, Poland.

Gilgamech's avatar

Well it’s Andrew’s premise not mine. I tend to agree with you but it won’t stop both of them trying.

Trump as usual does not know what he is talking about. Best to ignore him. Americans are surprised that they elected him.

Methinks Donald is chasing too many butterflies at the same time. If he wants to tackle China, he'll need to give Russia, Israel and India some space. Not to mention Hungary, lol.
