MAGA is learning that $200M of Zionist money don’t come for free. Trump is a businessman and he sold himself to the highest bidder. He was always going to be Israel First, America Last. Tucker and Bannon knew this was the most likely outcome. Since at least the 1960s, US elections have only ever been a choice between two AIPAC puppets. AIPAC-D vs AIPAC-R.

LJones's avatar

Trump is angry that his base is angry and calling him out for not standing by the principles that got him elected.

Trump is the one who pointed out ~repeatedly the mess the neocons made in the Middle East, will "all their endless wars" he always said to enormous applause. And yet, here we are, again, well on the way to yet another stupid war.

And most of us, at least the somewhat informed of us, dont believe that nuclear bomb BS or the "crazy religious fanatic" BS spread by idiots like Mark Levin. Pakistan has nukes, N Korea has nukes, Israel has nukes. Another country with a nuke isnt desirable, but please, it's not the end of the world.

And Trump insists on using his ignorant inflammatory language, "The Iranians cannot have nukes!" which is beyond humiliating and demeaning to an ancient and proud society. How about just quietly doing your job of not getting the world blown up? Trump is the one always talking about "common sense," which is entirely missing here.

And, at the end of the day, it's not Tucker or Bannon, both of whom strike me as sus in a way I can't articulate, it's this ridiculous public humiliation of an adversary, coupled with sending the entire Navy, all while being encouraged to drink Iranian blood by Congress, all the stupid war mongers in Wash DC, and the psychopathic leader in Israel. It's just a clown show that is destructive of the America he says he loves. We elected him to set us right, not to send us swirling down a toilet.

At this point, all the momentum is in favor or war and I doubt Trump could turn it around even if he were smart enough to do so, which he is not. I dont even impute good intentions at this point. There's no kayefabe going on here. He just flat out lied to us.

Trump is weak, stupid and easily manipulated.

LJones's avatar

It's worse than that. He's dangerous and has finally destroyed any last shred of US diplomatic credibility. The US is now completely unhinged and bent on starting WWIII. I hope Mr Putin and Mr Xi have some moves planned nc right now it looks a/ US goes to war in Iran alongside a genocidal maniac or b/ US doesnt go to war and Israel nukes Tehran. All they want is Iran wrecked. It's disgusting and astonishing that nobody in this country, not a single person, is willing to stand up against it. Any self-respecting cabinet member would have resigned bu now. Even the abused Tulsi Gabard insists on staying. Im starting to question my own grip on reality.

Feral Finster's avatar

It is abundantly obvious that neither Putin nor Xi have any particular plan other than hope that the wolf will eat them last.

Let's hope the attack on Iran will help to change their minds. They're our last best hope.

In my experience, for most humans most of the time, the fastest and surest way to wind up dead or seriously disadvantaged has been at the hands of our fellow humans. At the same time, "our group", whether by faith, family, tribe, regiment, whatever, are the people we can trust to have our back.

Therefore, whatever else happens, whatever we have to do, believe absurdities, blindly follow barking insane leaders, parrot obvious lies to our detriment, do or suffer terrible things, but please whatever you do, please don't kick us out of the group!

What this also means is that when we are presented with incontrovertible proof that the group narrative is wrong or that the group leaders are mad or charlatans or worse, rather than change leaders or change beliefs or change groups, most people, most of the time will instead double down. Witness the behavior of cultists.

The process is called "cognitive dissonance" and it is abundantly documented. As alluded to earlier, there are entire religions organized around the principle.

Cognitive dissonance is not limited to stupid people. In fact, the intelligent are at least as prone, perhaps because they are better at rationalizing. In fact, much so-called "knowledge work" is basically learning symbol manipulation in order to rationalize something.

Following the jab mandates and widespread promotion of degeneracy and migrant invasion, there was a huge cloud of discontent in the American society, inside the right side of the political spectrum. The peak was in February 2022, with the trucker movements in Canada and the trucker march in the US. That was just before the system pushed Ukraine as a distraction in the media, and quietly defused the main discontent by removing the jab mandates and other coronacircus plandemic restrictions.

I remember those heady days in late 2021 / early 2022. People were starting to link with each other, prepare for the worst. Training together. The gov were s**tting their diapers picking up that chatter. Readers outside the US should keep in mind that the 100 million discontented people in this case owned on average more than a single firearm, hundreds of rounds of ammo, and a lot of them were veterans -- many with firsthand experience in (counter) insurgency tactics in the sandbox. The disorderly retreat from Afghanistan in August 2021 was fresh in people's minds.

(The above situation may have played a role in someone's decision to invade Ukraine, judging the US gov incompetent and dying off. However, the people were motivated by the threat to their own livelihood posed by the jab mandates, so as soon as those were lifted, they went back to their lives)

The system was aware that the cloud of discontent was still there, with the migrant situation and the "degenerates first" politics acting as fuel. So the Dems didn't put up a fight in the 2024 elections (other than some weak legal harassment attempts meant to prop up Trump as a fighter); the tech oligarchs outright switched to his side, and a false savior was provided in order to harness the cloud of potential energy into something useful for the system.

Now the right is composed of two groups:

- Evangelical baby boomers, who are strongly in the grasp of an apocalyptic cult that tries to force-fulfill prophecies in the book of Revelation and some from the Old Testament, in order to bring about the Second Coming of Christ. I am neither joking, nor exaggerating! I personally know such people, and I listened to the sermons of the pastors who control them. We are talking about 30 million such people. These prophecies include Israel ruling over most of Middle East, down to the middle of the Arabic peninsula. Implanting this message in their heads via the Scofield Bible notes was a masterful strike on part of the Zionists. The boomers will support _any_ war of aggression and genocidal behavior from Israel.

- GenX-ers and younger, who are generally aware that the 2003 Iraq war was conducted for the benefit of the Israel, not of the United States, that AIPAC should register as a foreign agent, and that the United States should become an independent nation one day, and not a vassal of Israel.

I expect that the current government will use the political support from the boomers to justify air strikes against Iran, for the benefit of Israel.

Anyone who wishes to prevent members of the right from joining the mental prison of the apocalyptic cult can make use of the following:

- Force-fulfilling prophecies to force God's hand is a sin of pride of the highest order: it is telling God what to do. It is much worse than simple disobedience. It is also (theo)logically stupid. If condition A is present when B is supposed to occur, it doesn't mean that _every_ time condition A occurs, B will.

- Current jews are really Ashkenazis, descendants of Khazars. Not even Middle Eastern. They are the false jews that Jesus calls "the synagogue of Satan". The world was not promised to _them_. They follow the Talmud (plenty of good quotes there!). They are those who rejected Christ explicitly, condemning themselves to damnation.

- The New Testament fulfilled all prophecies of the Old Testament. It is the New Covenant of God with mankind. The world isn't promised to the Jews any more, but to Christians.

May God bless anybody on the side of good. An apocalyptic cult trying to cause the end of the world because that will force Jesus to come (!) certainly ain't that.

Unfortunately, although I like Pres. Trump as a person, he has fallen into Israel's delusion that everyone "is out to get Israel." "Since October 7, Israel has conducted more than 17,000 attacks in five countries, including the occupied Palestinian territory, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran, according to analysed data from the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)." [Aljazeera] The only bully on the block is the one who's committed over 17,000 air strikes against five other countries in the Middle East since Oct. 7. Trump needs to grow up. People are free and able to criticize other people in this country. He should be quickly informed by his staff that, rather needing to return to a major network, Carlson has become enormously successful with his own independent broadcast numbering viewers which any network envies.

Mike's avatar

Should Trump attack and things go south it will lead to impeachment after 2026. He'll lose the House and Trump will be hated by 30% of MAGA. Betrayal is not something believers tolerate. If he thought through the politics and the likely outcome he wouldn't be so rash. Unlike most presidents, attacking Iran will impact him PERSONALLY. It is beyond foolish.

This post does a great job unpacking the internal tensions within MAGA, highlighting how the core debate isn’t just about foreign policy choices like Iran, but about authority and interpretation of “America First” itself. Trump’s assertion that he alone decides the movement’s direction contrasts sharply with influential voices like Tucker Carlson and Steve Bannon, who see themselves as guardians of MAGA’s original ethos and are skeptical of war with Iran.

Jim Fiala's avatar

The U.S. political ruling elite, Democratic and Republican, must wholly serve the interests of the U.S corporate, financial, and military oligarchy. That is the whole idea. It's the way "democracy" functions in the U.S. It's the entire purpose of the two-party system.

For a U.S. president to mount a primary challenge to that is unthinkable. It cannot and will not happen. And if anyone has any ideas to the contrary, they will politely be reminded of to whom their true and sole obligations are.

My guess is Bibi and the neo-cons are telling Trump Iran is on the ropes and a few US bunker buster raids will finish the regime off so naturally he doesn't want to hear an anti-war message from Carlson right now.

James Schwartz's avatar

Andrew where do you get some of your information? Just because Tucker Carlson speaks he isn’t the word of Trump. Trump spent 4 years watching and learning how he was destroyed from the inside. It won’t happen again as he is doing it with much less input from others and when he speaks it’s him speaking. He has appointed almost all the positions he is allowed to in every situation in govt and it aligns with him. Tucker has no position and just runs a podcast. Bannon isn’t at the White House either. So neither of them have any first hand knowledge of what’s going on. Trump won’t be played by Bibi. There will be no extended war with US involvement in the ME. I’d say regime change is pretty close in Iran without US involvement. Israel can take out the supreme leader and he is looking for a safe landing already in Russia or China.

Andrew Korybko's avatar

I rely on all sorts of sources and incorporate them into my own framework, which I amend as needed by circumstance and my own insight therein. I'm divided on what to think, to be honest, since I sympathize with what Tucker and Bannon are saying in this case but I also do believe that Trump *might* (I'm not entirely convinced) have game-changing information.

What I'm most worried about is the possible collateral damage from direct US involvement in another major overseas war derailing MAGA's domestic agenda, which I know also relies upon fulfilling several international goals (some in relation to Iran), and I'm also worried that Trump -- who, despite my respect for him, seems to be influenced a lot by people close to him, who don't always have his best interests or MAGA's in mind -- could be manipulated.

James Schwartz's avatar

Trump has a plan for Iran and has had one since his first term if you recall the max pressure he put on them basically crushing them which led to civilian uprising there. Biden reversed all of it and that scumbag Malley was an Iranian plant along with that chick in the pentagon. Malley eventually had his clearance stripped and he was relieved of his duties but they never said fired as that would’ve implied guilt on some level as he was handing them classified intel. Trump and Bibi aren’t the buddies that Bibi is trying to portray as Trump heard how Bibi thinks of America and how he can manipulate them. Trump’s son in law (Kushner) is no fan of Bibi’s either. Trump obviously welcomes regime change in Iran and the people there want it too. I think Trump is seeing how this plays out for a little while as if the regime falls there will be no need to destroy the nuclear site. How many nuclear power plants does Iran have anyway? I think 1 maybe 2. They get their power from gasoline. It’s always been bullshit.

Ladyc's avatar

I feel like they’ve been hoping for the leadership to give itself up and failing that some kind of ‘palace coup.’ They hoped after Raisi’s dubious ‘accidental death’ that the new president Pezeshkian might bring Iran in a pro-west direction. Now they’ve moved on to over assassinations. Israel is a great proxy if not the actual mastermind, and there could be others in the wings with something to gain potentially (Turkey & Syria?) if Iran’s leadership falls with the least resistance it’s the best outcome to save lives. No one (including China and Russia) is going to protect Iran apparently, and Trump may have promised Putin something regarding Ukraine to ditch Iran.

Free Dom's avatar

Yes, regime change by creating conditions for a color revolution seems to be (((their))) goal. A US boots-on-the-ground invasion would require shipping a million troops and their materiel to the Middle East. It would take a year to do that, and it is doubtful the Arabs would provide staging areas this time. So the US will most likely just bomb the place.

However, what people hate is fat rulers in palaces, away from risk, while the young die in wars. Like the European emperors in WWI, or the US administration and Congress now. On the other hand, when the leaders share the risks and discomfort, they are more likely to be respected.

I read somewhere that Stalin stood in the cold for five hours, continuously saluting the troops going to the Battle of Moscow in December 1941. The Germans also expected the Russians would turn on the Communist Party when faced with losses and hardship, with the purges of 1937 fresh in mind. Things ended up differently though.

Sociologists, psychologists and historians may be more useful in strategic planning than Air Force colonels.

Did you ever consider that people have their roles to play? Even the split between Musk and Trump… it might have been co-ordinated so that Musk would be able to accuse Trump of being in the Epstein files. This served 2 purposes: 1) it could be shown in public ahead of time that Trump knew Epstein socially but wasn’t one who went to his islands, and 2) it activated Trump derangement syndrome in the Dems who themselves called for the release of the Epstein files to try to get Trump, using their vitriol against them, because the real dirt in those files actually involves key globalists like the Clintons. I’m similarly just watching to see if this latest spat might be for some reason… although it could also be that it isn’t… time will tell.

Trump is the bonehead who pushed Operation WarpSpeed and bragged about the jab like it was a good thing. He only got smarter when he started getting prosecuted and shot at. His most redeeming feature is he is not Kamala Harris. Don't lose hope: flawed people can still do good things and turn themselves around; Carlson and MTG would be prime examples. Hopefully people around Trump can shine some light and Americans smarten up. I don't want MAGA, I want MAFA-...Free Again.

Eve's avatar

Those arguing that this is not America's war to fight, and that MAGA is for staying out of all wars and preventing wars not joining them, are of individuals of varying motives. Some, who do not understand the facts about Iran's closeness to actually using their enriched uranium for a nuclear warhead atop a ballistic missile think that Iran doesn't really have a nuclear program and this is all a lie to entrap America in a war American's don't want. In addition they don't know of Iran's plan to transfer the nuclear warhead or enriched uranium to their last remaining terrorist proxy, the Houthis, which would be a danger to the entire world.

Some who accept that Iran was indeed very close to being able to use a nuclear weapon, insist that it is not in America's interest whether or not Iran has nuclear weapons.

What motivates someone to think it is not in America's interest whether or not the Iranian government has a nuclear weapon?

Lack of knowledge of the Iranian government's vow since they first were installed as the government by Kissinger and the CIA, to destroy the "Big Satan" (US) and "Little Satan" (Israel)?

If they know this has been the goal of this government all along, what then would motivate them to say it isn't in America's interest to prevent them from having a nuclear weapon?

Who benefits if the Iranian nuclear program is allowed to continue?

The only people who benefit from the current regime staying in power along with their nuclear weapons would be:

1. the CIA which has long empowered the Iranian government at the expense of all the other countries of the Middle East, because the Iranian government could be counted on to cause destruction and mayhem if not war in the Middle East on a continuous basis

2. Qatar which is the financial center for Iran and main funder of Iranian propaganda all around the world

3. Individuals who have benefitted from Qatar's largesse, such as Tucker Carlson who received funds from Qatar to start his media business.

4. the MIC which wants forever war in the Middle East.

5. the CCP which gets over 50% of its energy from Iran and which has had a larger influence in the Middle East than most people realize, until Israel just ended their power with Israel's attack on Iran's weapons of mass destruction.

6. Antisemitic individuals wherever they exist in the world benefit from Iran's genocidal intentions and propaganda against Israel.

All the people of America, whether they think it is in their interests or not, will benefit if this current regime and their nuclear weapons are destroyed. The people of Iran will benefit, who have lived under a totalitarian dictatorship since 1979 will benefit, as they will be able to create a new government for themselves. All the countries of the Middle East except Qatar will benefit, as they all have been threatened by Iran's nuclear program. And the Israeli people will benefit as peace in the Middle East and in their country will be much more likely to be sustained with this regime and their nuclear weapons gone.

Woah, I just had flashbacks to 2003 when Colin Powell knowingly lied at the UN about Iraq having WMDs and around the same time I recall hearing lapdog Sean Hannity yap about how because of aluminum tubes, enriched yellowcake, and other brainwashing propaganda for the rubes that therefore Iraq obviously had WMDs. It was pathetically funny even then because all Hannity knew about anything was what lies he was told to repeat.

I don't know if you are old enough to recall all the lies and propaganda back then, Eve, but your message could have been a rewrite of what was spewed post 911 and I'm sure any other wars back when the US went through the motions and pretended to be a sovereign nation and followed the Constitution.

Also, I'm always confused deciphering thoughts like your point #6: since Palestinians are semitic, isn't Israel the ultimate antisemitic nation formed by European immigrants who were given land in Palestine by Zionist British? What would you think if I did something similar and gave any random a-holes your property?

Admittedly It's confusing trying to sort out media brainwashing. How about something plain and simple like those who want to fight should "take it outside" (the US) and pay for it themselves?

Eve's avatar

I was definitely alive then. Here is the difference between now and then. The CIA and MIC is what put the Mullahs in power in Iran. Why? To make sure there would be perpetual terrorism and wars in the Middle East. And indeed, since 1979, there has been perpetual terrorism, war, death, and destruction in the Middle East primarily as a result of these genocidal Iranians who have worked for years to obtain a nuclear weapon to use on the US and to wipe Israel off the map.

What Israel is doing in ending their nuclear and ballistic missile program is to END PERPETUAL WARS IN THE MIDDLE EAST, NOT FOMENT A NEW ONE.

Both George Bush Sr. and George Bush Jr. were interested in starting perpetual wars in the Middle East along with the CIA and affiliated NGOs. George Bush Sr. started Hamas, along with the King of Jordan. You are well familiarized with what George Bush Jr. did.

Israel is not antisemitic towards the Palestinians, you have it upside down. The land of Israel is the land Jews settled over 27 centuries ago, centuries before Mohammed was even born. Thus the Jews are the original inhabitants of the land. Nevertheless they have offered the Palestinians land to make their own state side by side with Israel many, many times but the Palestinians refused because they don't want a state of their own living side by side with Israel, they want a Judenrein state, without any infidels, that means without Christians or atheists as well as without Jews from the river to the sea.

On October 7th, the Palestinians committed a holocaust, a genocidal war against the Israelis, including babies, grandparents, holocaust survivors, and murdered babies in front of their parents, and murdered and raped parents in front of their children. They also committed other war crimes, including the taking of hostages.

Since then, there probably are not many Jews interested in trying for peace with the Palestinians. It is not for the lack of trying. Since 1948 the Israelis tried to create peace with the Palestinians but the only people willing to make peace with Israel were either killed or threatened, so that there are no Palestinians willing to make peace with Israel. Their fantasy that the land belongs to them is just that, a fantasy. By international law the state of Israel has legal rights to the land.

By the way, there were few Zionists amongst the British. While Israel was given a mandate to a small part of the land, the British gave the vast majority of the land to the Arabs, it was called Transjordan. Today, the true home of all Palestinians is the state of Jordan. When the king abdicates, there is a man ready and willing to become the President of a new Republic of Jordan, his name is Mudar Zahran. You can find him on X and on YouTube. He intends to make sure Jordan welcomes all Palestinians to live there in freedom, but there will be a zero tolerance policy for terrorism, and discrimination against anyone based upon race, religion, or ethnicity will be a crime. He plans to educate the children to love all children not hate some of them for their religions. He is a member of the Jordanian Opposition and since the King and Queen of Jordan have outlawed any political opposition, he currently lives in the UK. Once he becomes President of the Republic of Jordan, the Israeli Palestinian conflict will end.

Jim's avatar

Eve, problems in Iran started with US and Brits meddling in 1953 and putting the Shah in Mossadegh's place. European Jews "left home" many centuries ago. By your reasoning any Apache, Sioux, Cheyenne or (take your pick) Indians on a reservation can move into any home in the US after killing the occupants and fatuous American taxpayers should pay for their home security systems. You were alive when GWB Jr was a tool, but seems you don't recognize the pattern. Haha, when you invent your own history and also the definition of words, you can convince yourself of anything.

Eve's avatar

I agree with your statement:"problems in Iran started with US and Brits meddling in 1953 and putting the Shah in Mossadegh's place."

I don't agree that the Jews who bought land to settle in their homeland which was an inheritance from God took the land from Arabs. Jews who settled in Palestine bought the land from absentee owner Arabs. When Israel became a state in 1948, six Arab countries declared war on Israel. It was the Arabs from these countries who told Arabs living in the State of Israel to leave their homes and their land, for their own protection. They told the Arabs that they would be returning in a few days, after the Arabs won the war. Instead Israel won the war. Arabs who left their lands and homes COULD HAVE COME BACK TO CLAIM THEM. However it was the Arabs who made it clear that no Muslim should ever negotiate with the Jews. If you are really interested in this time period, read the book, The Haj by Leon Uris. Anyone in the Muslim community who wanted to work with the Jews or negotiate with them was seen as an enemy, i.e., no different from a Jew. Their hatred of Jews blinded them to the possibility of peace, and many stayed in "refugee" camps in Judea and Samaria, teaching their children to hate Jews.

Do you hate Jews, Jim? Or do you just hate the fact that there is one Jewish state in the world? You think the the Jews should be driven into the sea and the Palestinians take over all of Israel?

Jim's avatar

Eve, I guess it is time you played that card, insinuating I hate Jews because all else you've written is your own pretend reality and when someone doesn't agree with you, it must be because they hate? Just because I'm not buying what you're selling because it's wrong and I don't agree with your apology for the Mengele-like Israeli government which experimented on it's "Never again" population by shooting them up with the jab and is bombing civilians in it's never-ending quest for Lebensraum (just like Hitler) has nothing to do with hate on my part except hate for liars. I'm not blind as you are Eve, unless you're disingenuous or a shill for a foreign government which controls much of the US government. Eve, if you support the Israeli government, you're free to send them your money and give them your time. But your advocacy of US support for them so I'm forced to pay for another evil foreign war just means you learned nothing from what happened in Iraq post-911. Or maybe.....you learned very well how well it worked out last time? ;-}
