Russia, always the poor, persecuted victim. "The West" had opportunity and ability to "get its hands on" much of Russia's resources in the 10 to 15 years after USSR dissolved.

Yeltsin, and especially Putin ensured that most of Russia's vast resources went into the hands of favored cronies, oligarchs and thugs. And Putin's military adventurism continues to divert human and financial capital from Russia's own industrial and scientific development, and from resource utilization and extraction. But something about "Russian speakers in" wherever and "Nazis" in Ukraine.

Bush, Obama and Biden greedy for Russian resources? That's lame cope. Western companies struck joint agreements under Russian law. How much did the Russian economy grow post 1991? Not as much as it should have? Keep blaming "the West," while Russia keeps shooting itself in the foot.

Trump & Co., though? More plausible, but you helped create him, bigly. Stay aggrieved ...

At the beginning of Putin's second presidential term, Russia's rank in the Corruption Perceptions Index deteriorated from 90th place in 2004 to 126th place in 2005 - a drop of 36 places in one year. Now it ranks bottom 20 out of 185 countries - with DR Congo, Burundi, Eritrea, Guinea-Bissau, Assad's Syria, Maduro's Venezuela, etc.

My father said in 1980:

Everything will repeat itself. Look at the behavior of the Germans as soon as they get their hands on something really good and superior.

See how they boast about their Mercedes and throw their mark around in countries with weak currencies. (Back then, for example, the lira, the pesetas.)

Such a spirit, one that only shows off, is the kind that kicks down at the first opportunity as soon as it doesn't get what it wants. The German has completely fallen apart since 1900 and now even treats the people who work "for him" badly.

The German is nothing more than a self-important, arrogant slave driver who only scores points with the weak and forces his exploitative contracts on them. That's why the Americans are still allowed to be there. Because they're stronger now, and these cowards cower before them.

In truth, they themselves are a colony. They'll never get over this because they have no solution for themselves.

Such a mind will never want to learn that it has done anything wrong.

A life cycle will pass from one event to its repetition, and from war to its repetition. 90-100 years.

Because then there will be no one left to bear witness to the truth. They will invoke history but ignore it themselves.

My father, born in 1942 during a bombing raid, was no prophet. He was a socialist. He knew the advantages and the disadvantages. He lived with both until he could no longer. But he was willing to understand and learn. He didn't hate the Germans. Today I know that he pitied them, that since 1900, due to a lack of character, they had failed to bring anything positive to the world from their potential.

The Germans. A nation of losers.

You think: Backward?

You think I am unaware of the reason for the Germans' spiritual wretchedness—as you describe it so aptly?

I merely articulated what, regrettably, has been addressed in far too few studies:

Losers are eager to go to war. Because they believe they have nothing to do but win. This is, of course, a fallacy—one that will prove itself true once again within just a few years, amidst the current appetite for war against Russia.

Why? Because the German, mired in this spiritual wretchedness, has simply learned nothing.

The question of culpability regarding those who instigated it is a separate matter entirely. And by that, I do not refer to the document written by the victors, but rather to the unvarnished facts.

In this regard, there is a very apt observation—made by a German!

“War is, at first, the hope that one will be better off; next, the expectation that the other will be worse off; then, the satisfaction that the other is no better off either; and finally, the surprise that both are worse off.”

― Karl Kraus, *Deutsche Tageszeitung*, August 1, 1914

I hope I have been of service.

Feral Finster's avatar

So what does Russia propose to do about it?

Jörg-M. Rudolph's avatar

Very plausible fact gathering and conclusion, thank you. One objection only. You state about the central Asian states mentioned that they are: »… harboring deep resentment against Russia for their predecessor state’s many defeats at the hands of the erstwhile Russian Empire.« My own studies showed that it was the Soviet Union—Russia for that matter—which created them as states and pursued all kind of policies to foster there national myths to make them nation states. Lenin and Stalin’s »national question« theorizing comes back today to hunt the Russian elite.

Darras's avatar

Well seen.

This proves the emptiness of a supranational state. A supranational state only endures as long as no powerful adversary has yet exploited its internal national differences. As soon as these artificial constructs become the target of an intense foreign campaign of national divisions, they implode: Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Rwanda, Congo, Yemen, USSR, Lebanon, Syria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad. Tomorrow, if a powerful state considers India or Indonesia as countries to be destroyed, we will see nationalist movements flourish there. The forced march toward a European federation contains within itself the seeds of its own destruction.

schmenger's avatar

blame it on the empire.

Darras's avatar

This hallucinatory historical revisionism is truly an Anglo-Saxon and even Anglo-Dutch peculiarity. We see its first effects in the 16th century, when England allied itself with Dutch insurgents and French Protestants, and even with the Kingdom of France, against the Hispano-Austrian empire. By taking up and perfecting the Dutch example, the English inaugurated soft power, a villainous and scandalously false rewriting of history. The creation of the famous Spanish Black Legend. They invent English prowess and systematically denigrate the Spanish, deceitfully portrayed as bloodthirsty savages, depraved and incompetent. The Dutch are nice Protestants rebelling against 'Spanish fanatical arbitrariness.'

Thus, it was Drake, not Magellan, who completed the first circumnavigation — Drake, that bloodthirsty, monstrous pirate elevated to national hero, victor of the Invincible Armada (which he never even approached). Then the French in the Americas are accused of all kinds of flaws and vices. Rapists of Indian women (a legend that persists), whereas all figures prove that unlike the Anglo-Saxons, who raped and exterminated them, the French massively married them, before a priest, and baptized their mixed‑race children. The Yankees being Anglo-Dutch, it was natural that they multiplied this tendency toward historical manipulation and systematic slander even further.

The English outdid themselves in lying propaganda during the Napoleonic Wars. Napoleon was the man who ruthlessly set Europe on fire and bloodshed out of pure personal greed and megalomaniacal madness... whereas almost all the wars of that period were initiated by... the English. Either directly, or by commissioning other peoples to shed blood in their place. Napoleon declared virtually no wars, except the disastrous, stupid, and vainglorious Russian campaign.

The USA thus became the greatest masters of manipulation and historical slander. And Hollywood was a colossal lever.

Today, and since 1945, the strategic adversary, the new Carthage to be destroyed — after Quebec, Mexico, Richmond, Madrid, Tokyo, and Berlin — is Moscow. All the guns of US soft power are trained on this target.

So far, no one has survived this treatment.

Let us wager that once this Carthage is subdued like a dog, reduced to a multitude of rump states or razed, the guns of US soft power will turn toward China, which for now has been largely spared.

Feral Finster's avatar

It works.

Found on internet:

"First of all: Wars are won by whoever possesses the deadlier weapons.

The indigenous peoples of the Americas, Asia, and Africa had brave, skilled, and highly motivated warriors—but the Maxim machine guns slaughtered them en masse and defeated these armies.

The Japanese of World War II were cruel but also extremely motivated fighters—yet in the end, they were slaughtered by the U.S. military machine by the millions. Bravery and morale are important, but technological progress is and always has been more important.

We can only pray to God that Silicon Valley does not begin to dominate thinking at the Pentagon; otherwise, both Russia and Iran will lose world war III.

If Silicon Valley succeeds in producing autonomous drones the size of dragonflies that carry 5–10 grams of explosives, remain active for half an hour, and can be dropped in large numbers by aircraft over critical areas, this will have an effect similar to the invention of the machine gun in the 19th century for fighting the armies of the indigenous peoples of Africa or Asia.

Of course, these drones won’t be able to distinguish between civilians and soldiers and will explode on the head of anyone unlucky enough to be in the target area defined by the U.S.—but hey!—has collateral damage ever been a problem for the U.S.?

When Russian or Iranian soldiers reach locations littered with thousands of corpses with blown-off heads and brains hanging out, that will certainly have an impact on their combat effectiveness...

We’ve been in World War III for a long time. The West is bankrupt; no Western politician is willing to tell their constituents THIS—it means that we Westerners will have to work hard for low pay and few vacations until at least 2050 or 2026 before we can ever compete economically again—and so war is the only option for us bankrupts. It’s that simple.

A politician who promises me a “bright future” is one who wants to continue waging World War III. I do not believe in a bright future. We missed the train a long time ago. I can’t say any more than that.

We Westerners are the Third Reich today. We want world domination at any cost. Since we are sociopathic by nature, we will put everything on the line to achieve our goal. Tehran, Moscow, and Beijing should finally realize this.

For every Columbus, Hernán Cortés, or Francisco Pizarro who made it, there are thousands who died on the path to infinite wealth. For us, the “50 Cent” motto applies: “Get rich or die tryin’.”

We are not interested in our human or natural environment; we are not even interested in our own environment. Over the past 35 years, the West has destroyed itself out of sheer greed.

The smart people in Tehran, Moscow, and Beijing need to keep THAT in mind at all times. We are sociopaths. We are the Epstein class. We accept no partners; we accept only submission—or annihilation."

I can't accept this bet because I would bet the same thing.

Therefore, I'm making a bold statement: The USA is the terrorist of the world.

Officially since 1776.

Herman's avatar

I don't think that the kind of people who hate Russia and who want to lay hands on its riches are your typical Hitler-enthusiasts. Quite the contrary.

Love never fails's avatar

Based on pretty much everything I have experienced in Germany—as an immigrant observing from an outsider’s perspective—this view is, unfortunately, accurate.

And it is precisely here that Germany’s immense aggressive potential lies concealed: namely, in the widespread greed and hypocrisy that, since roughly 2005, have ceased to be socially ostracized; instead, they have become established markers of social status.

The bigger the car, the cleaner the façade—the higher one’s standing.

Ninety percent of young people who do not have wealthy parents demand material possessions with an intensity unmatched by any previous generation.

This is a global phenomenon. Yet in Germany, the preceding generation had already absorbed it into the social consensus—poisoned, as it were, by affluence.

While Germans may not be capable of much else—aside from speaking loudly and issuing orders—they have nevertheless remained extremely dangerous in their misery.

Because they consider themselves the greatest of all.

Herman's avatar

Aren't you exaggerating a bit? I think that there are more dangerous people on earth than the Germans of today. After all, it is not the Germans who are bombing and starving everybody who doesn't submit.

Love never fails's avatar

Yes, there are even more dangerous ones. For instance, in the White House.

But I am speaking of the Germans.

And when I consider 50 years of information regarding Europe’s development—including 23 years of interacting with Germans, both privately and professionally—I do not believe I am exaggerating.

Here, too, the exceptions merely prove the rule.

Under German leadership, Europe is poised to crash just as brutally as it did during the two World Wars.

Regarding that second statement, I have just one question:

Which economic sector in Germany is currently flourishing the most?

I’ll tell you: by an ever-widening margin, it is the arms industry.

The joystick used to input the coordinates for the bombing of that Iranian girls' school—hmm... with Ramstein, we have a prime candidate.

The drones in Ukraine that are killing Russians.

German—or rather, European—warfare, exported en masse.

"In the name of democracy," of course.

Or is it not?

Herman's avatar

Ramstein is in Germany, but you know very well that there is an important US military base there... So, when American soldiers in Ramstein input the coordinates of a bombing target, the Germans are still guilty, because the Americans operated from a place in Germany...

???

I suspect that you had some nasty experiences during your stay in Germany - Germans can be unbearably arrogant, it is true - and that you have a chip on your shoulder since then. Nevertheless, try to remain even-handed and reasonable. It's not good to be carried away by hatred. You call yourself "Love never fails". How about living up to your name?

Love never fails's avatar

Unfortunately, you are mistaken on several counts. My blunt talk is not hateful; it is simply clear. And if you engage in sustained conversation with Germans, rest assured: nothing but blunt talk works anymore amidst all the drivel born of media-induced ignorance.

Perhaps I can clarify your points:

Ramstein: Why didn't Germany seize the opportunity in 1990 to conclude a peace treaty and, as a sovereign, unoccupied nation, liberate itself from the Americans? Exactly. Because they were too cowardly. And in doing so, they made themselves complicit—not least through their purchases and production of weapons for war.

The Russians were open to a peace treaty. The French would have agreed to a neutral Germany. Oh, and then there were our "friends"—the British and the Americans. *They* didn't want a peace treaty. Because they do not want Germany cooperating with the Russians.

Ramstein, Spangdahlem... I live right in the middle of this nuclear danger zone. These US bases need to go. I’ve even been inside one of the bases myself—when a GI was selling a car. It was absolutely baffling to me just how lax the security measures are there.

It was a complete joke.

I certainly do not hate Germans. I simply see how fed up they are—and I call it out. Why shouldn't I? Ukrainians come here, refuse to work, and simply cash in on the system. The statistics speak for themselves. I came here and paid my taxes.

And on top of enduring this rip-off of fees and taxes, I’m supposed to be diplomatic about it?

I believe this attitude—this "keep your mouth shut" mentality—is a major mistake on the part of the Germans.

There are some truly great Germans out there. Really decent guys. Honest, hard workers.

But there are precious few of them left. The rest just talk, talk, talk; they’ve become incredibly unreliable and simply assume that the foreigner will do the actual work. And when one brings this up—having already burned through tens of thousands of euros in wages on lazy employees—does that make one "embittered"? I am simply not willing to accept this.

I distance myself from such people whenever and wherever I can.

I simply take a stand. Clearly and unequivocally.

And: It works. It follows the motto:

"Take a step forward, and they will step back."

In reality, I take that step in a manner that is personally friendly and polite—yet firm and swift.

And just like that, the people I’m dealing with understand whether they really want to continue encroaching upon me with their notions of taking advantage and exploitation.

The honest ones remain—and communicating with them is a truly respectful and enjoyable experience.

Life is too short for people who only make demands—who talk about love but harbor none within themselves. Whatever I do, I do with love. A love for people. Yet love does not subsist merely on emotion; for the long term, it relies on honesty.

To each their own.

Therefore, I believe there is likely a misunderstanding in your interpretation of my choice of words here.

For if you say nothing, you have no right to be surprised when these people soon start making demands—demands for which I will ultimately be dispossessed or robbed through additional fees. That has just as little to do with love as it does with genuine social responsibility.

Unfortunately, however, that is the reality in Germany.

A dying system.

Whether my plain speaking constitutes hatred toward this country and its people - or whether, in truth, it is an act of love born of a desire for the people here to wake up before they slide completely into poverty by 2030 and get crushed beneath the wheels of the Great Reset - is something I leave entirely up to each individual reader to decide.

If the west's plans to dominate Russia, can't multipolarity system will moving?

So how with BRICS and Eurasia?

Andrew Korybko's avatar

I don't quite understand, can you please rephrase your question? Thanks.

Qenan Rohullah's avatar

I'm trying to interpret the topic of the West trying to dominate Russia, and I feel like there's a question that needs to be addressed: what about Eurasia and the BRICS? Are they allowing this? While Russia is a key player, if the West does so, it will disrupt the multipolar system that has been established.

Andrew Korybko's avatar

Ok, thanks for clarifying. In brief, BRICS is nothing but a talking club, literally. Please refer to my critical take from late 2024:

https://korybko.substack.com/p/did-the-latest-brics-summit-achieve

Second, Eurasia isn't a unified entity, and there isn't even a symbolic coordination platform for the entire continent.

My final point is to be very, very wary of anyone pushing the narrative that BRICS and/or Eurasia is a unified force capable of resisting the West as a whole.

It's one of the Alt-Media Community's top dogmas, but it's flat-out false, being pushed only to boost supporters' morale and demoralize the West.

Having clarified that, to answer your question, Russia is distracted by the SMO, its feedback loops are broken, and the West is exploiting this to the hilt.

No non-Western country other than Iran will wage a war in support of anyone else (Iran in support of its Resistance allies), so nobody will come to save Russia.

If these plans are to be thwarted, then it'll be an entirely Russian effort, not a joint military one for example between Russia and China and/or Iran.

And yes, I fully agree that this is part of the US' plan to subvert multipolarity. It's also part and parcel of what I earlier termed the Neo-Reagan Doctrine:

https://korybko.substack.com/p/the-trump-doctrine-as-applied-towards

Love never fails's avatar

The "Neo-Reagan Doctrine" was known in Europe at the time simply as NATO's eastward expansion.

The military-strategic basis for launching this campaign was NATO's dual-track decision. A testament to NATO's exclusive aggressiveness, as I understood it in my younger years.

I asked myself then: For what? We have peace here. For what?

The clear answer: They wanted to conquer the USSR.

And it will always remain so unless a disruptive game-changer stops this imperialist drive.

Because this Western drive for conquest will never change.

We have to admit that we Westerners are as stupid as it says in the Bible.

And we Europeans can't bring ourselves to admit this.

Left over least of all the Americans.

That's why we remain stupid.

That's why we (our family) are leaving.

Interestingly, Trump 2.0 opened up on Greenland and Canada and turned and walked from these two potential victims, unwilling to start a fight with his own allies. Then came Russia, China and Iran. At least by now we know who he really is and what he wants. He has 32 months to finish whatever he wants, if he lives that long and remains at least half way senile. Lavrov and Zakharova follow his tracks and read him like he was a black bunny running in the Arctic snow. This conflict really has some depth to it, going back to Sevastopol 1854, Siberia 1918 and Ukraine 2022. If he manages to drag America into an everlasting conflict he might even hang on to a third term but it will not be a joyful time for him. Few days ago I was driving through downtown by a small group of demonstrators. An older guy had a handmade sign. It said: “YOUR PRESIDENT RAPES CHILDREN”

Love never fails's avatar

I think everything you’re getting at is right.

It’s just the sign—I thought that was wrong.

It should have read:

Your presidents raped children.

A shame. But the s makes the truth.

My meaning:

This man knows, that he will not survive long as Ex-President or will fast end in prison.

For if Vance pardons him—just as Biden did for his own corrupt cronies—he will face a civil war at home.

For then, the Democrats' twelve-year-long wish will have evidently failed to materialize. They simply cannot stomach that. Then, revolution will ensue.

And Vance knows this.

Therefore, Trump—and the Deep State—require war across the globe.

Broadly speaking:

U.S. wars abroad serve to shield the United States from "Civil War 2.0."

A conflict which, incidentally, would end swiftly—and in record time—leaving a staggering number of dead in its wake.
