Thank you as always for your journalism. I don't always agree but I always have to salute you courage and analysis. As I read this i could not help thinking that the real casualty of this period is the exposure of what it takes for an ally to control and constrain their US ally.

The historical amnesia and wishful thinking which has led to the Ukraine debacle, have all been so nakedly revealing of western strategic leadership and the cost to allies if a stable alliance beyond the cycles of political change are to persist. This is a watershed.

Zelensky needs to understand this isn’t Trump’s war. He was being supported by another administration with democrats in control who align with the globalist narrative. Trump has tried to bring peace and every time he thought he was close to a deal each side escalated the conflict. So he has pulled back and is going to let it be decided on who can withstand more pain. The American people are done sending their tax dollars to a country that cannot win and Zelensky is seeing now the support Europe is capable of giving which is nil. Ukraine has lost this war and needs to concede while it still has a country left.
