I am of the view that Lula was pushed by the clowns in DC to do this. It is rather obvious that a significant section of people in DC can see that their whole program for breaking Russia and then China is going down the drain. They are depleting their military stocks in Ukraine and are already at the point where they are severely below the stock levels for military hardware to "confront China". So those in DC with two brain cells to rub together are doing everything they can to put out the message to Russia that they want to "negotiate". Of course with people who are agreement incapable this is a non starter but there have been flags going up in the media over the last week with proposals supposedly from the administration to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. They are laughable but I see Lula's statement in this optic.

It is just another show to entertain Washington willing not to antagonize the decaying empire. Both Brazil and South Africa are the most vulnerable part in the BRICS countries and have play the geopolitical game accordingly. Lula wants to promote himself internaly and internationaly and also, show to Washington that he is less willing to promote the multipolar agenda and, in this way, he might run his thrid term without the threat of another coup.

I give him some latitude as well. After all, an ideal multipolar world will be one where there's not an iron curtain between the US system and the rest of the world. It may not be probable, but if it's possible, it seems like it would likely be through delicate diplomacy from the western hemisphere BRICS cohorts.

I give zero latidude to that vengeful vindictive patsy who was "selected" by fraud. He is simply a US shill. To quote Leiroz, the same group that put him in prison took him out of prison.

I don't think that Lula was "only" making a spectacle for self-aggrandizement. Having spoken, and having stayed within the limits of his current straitjacket, he has positioned himself for an opportunity to be more substantially involved in peace mediation when the situation changes on the battlefield and/or among the geopolitical players.

After Lula's speech, it is possible to perceive a change in the posture of the presidents of some countries, who manifest their positions of neutrality, in a more comfortable way - Serbia and Croatia, recently. As much as it seems impossible, Lula's "invention" can help a lot!

Completely phoney. His Mercosul EU treaty is actually in contravention to BRICS putting western interests first while plundering the Amazon for the PT to line it's pockets.

Does Lula want to promote himself politically in the world? Could be... But it is undeniable that he is already one of the important leaders! The most important thing is that he remained neutral, and did not resign himself to the empire, like some vassals in Europe. And Lula's proposal, despite the criticism, may come to fruition, as it represents a less embarrassing way out for the empire and its vassals, since defeat in the conflict is inevitable. "Political analysis aside"... Lula did well!

Lula did well? I watched both turns of the election. The only thing I saw was chicanery.

And the one month in power has simply been a nonstop vengeance campaign with a continual crescendo daily. For me he is of no importance. Sorry for such a strong retort.

However he is playing with the central bank. That may bring a dose of reality. And he already stabbed the US in the back by slapping tariffs on bio fuel that the former president suspended.
