Kuleba is out of touch with reality in what he says. He obfuscates.
Ukraine's biggest concern is that Russia decides to fight until Ukraine surrenders. Ukraine faces an existential threat from the war it provoked with Russia. The convoys of NATO weapons being brought into Ukraine are and will not even be close to what it would take to push Russia back in a meaningful way. The gig is up. Russia has the military welcome key to the city of Kyiv if it chooses and, by golly, nothing in the world can stop that now. NATO is in no shape for a conventional war against Russia fighting on its motherland. Forget about it. All NATO can do is non-strategic gimmicks like the failed Kursk assault. Yet the more NATO proxy Zelensky does to upset the Bear the hungrier it will get to rip up AFU lines of defense and advance towards Kyiv. The whole idea of Trump escalating to de-escalate sounds desperate. AFU forces are low on well-trained fighters. Many of these new recruits picked up on the streets surrender the first chance they get or they get shell shock unable to hold a line and rendered useless. Then there are the AFU female recruits tricked into fighting on the front trying to hold positions. The AFU army has already been defeated and what remains of them are just being used to buy time for the next bad idea. Ukraine is defeated and US-led NATO can't accept it yet.
Trump won't go down as a loser because Ukraine already lost its war with Russia before he became President. Just walking away from Ukraine would be the best move Trump could make only adding to his current popularity.
Kuleba is delusional in what he says out of touch with reality.
"Ukraine faces an existential threat from the war it provoked with Russia."
It wasn't the Ukraine that provoked the war with Russia.
...the military welcome key to the city of Kyiv...
No-one wants the city of Kiev, all that anyone (the Russians) want of it is for it to act like an adult and administer the country in a responsible manner. What the Americans wanted of it is of no relevance.
"The whole idea of Trump escalating to de-escalate sounds desperate."
Without wanting to offend, I would suggest a whole range of words and terms more appropriate than 'desperate', as you use it here, e.g. stupid, childish, silly, ill-considered, ill-informed... The list goes on.
"...US-led NATO can't accept it yet."
YET — be patient, give it time: King Canute eventually had no choice but to accept the inevitable.
"Just walking away from Ukraine would be the best move Trump could make only adding to his current popularity."
Well put — as succinct as it is accurate. It shouldn't take any relatively perceptive, sensitive and/or intelligent person, even an American President, more than a few weeks to reach that conclusion. There's still time.
"...Putin, Zelensky, and Trump will all escalate in their own ways..."
The biggest problem with this thesis is that only two of those three have any history of deliberate escalation.
"...over-simplified psychological term..."
"...anything like the Minsk agreements”"
He should be so lucky: поезд давно ушел, Дорогой!
"...it ignores the power that the US has..."
Wrong tense; should be, 'had'. Unless, of course, I've misinterpreted this, and it means the US has the power to stop supporting life in the Ukraine. The days of it's power to escalate or otherwise influence the outcome are long past.
"...he doesn’t want to “look weak”"
See above ("...over-simplified psychological term...")
Simple is as simple does — a simpleton.
(Couldn't resist that comment — sorry!)
"...unconvincingly disguising his deep fears with false confidence all throughout his article..."
Trump is handled by others. It’s not about him being seen as the loser. It’s about the state.
