Good article. The last two paragraphs contain the key concept: balance. I know India provides many sailors around the globe, but I did not know the status of India's shipbuilding business. If their shipyards are qualified to build Russian specifications of icebreakers, then they are good enough. If Russia were willing to buy two assault ships from France, there is no reason not to build icebreakers in India (after qualification). In addition, that is a good way to exchange the mountains of Rupees in Russian Central Bank into something useful. We need more win-win deals to remove dependency on a single currency. May the fair winds continue.
