It is in the nature of "non-alignment" that voices from all sides will be heard (and suffered).

With the same right, Russia could demand, that VOA and CNN be shut down. Russia - understanding the meaning of neutrality - will never place such requests.

We all know what a anglofascist "request" actually means. A very thinly veiled threat!

Thank you - India - for not succumbing and holding up the spirit of true neutrality.

Something the "paragon of neutrality" - Switzerland - has sadly thrown overboard long since!

The BBC do a lovely hit job on India every few weeks so I can imagine how Indian diplomats must have a good laugh when the Anglo-Saxons come a begging over stricter controls on Russian media.

You can download a free unlimited VPN on your browser or phone to easily read it. I use one for accessing Facebook and X. It literally takes just a few clicks and is so easy to do.

The US tried to get India to ban RT, but it refused. America once boasted that it exported democracy. Now it's exporting fascism. How weak and pathetic we look now, after asking another country to violate free speech and freedom of the press, and them telling us to pound sand. Do we have to rely on India to uphold the US Constitution, because the Democrats surely aren't?

India is a good partner to Russia in multiple ways. I appreciate your description of the "tri-polarity" of Russia, India & China. And now we have Iran in the mix, which makes the juggling act even more interesting.

You sure? I suspect that Modi will see complying with this demand as a relatively low cost way to accumulate brownie points in Washington.

While both India and China had long histories with military cooperation with USSR, India had not fought a war against USSR. In a sense, the somewhat more backward side of India's economy provides a buffer zone to allow India to endure any Western sanctions. I also think India's dependence on import/export is significantly lower than that of China. India MIC cooperation also has been on better terms with Russia than China -- India/Russia has BrahMos, China/Russia has the Su-27/J-11 contract abortion and Sukhoi accused China of stealing trade secrets.
