It’s in this rising Great Power’s objective national interests to carefully balance between the Golden Billion and the jointly BRICS- and SCO-led Global South of which it’s a part, which is why it must avoid getting embroiled all serious disputes connected to their ongoing
The argument that India is adopting a "principled neutrality" by delicately balancing itself in the New Cold War between the Golden Billion (led by America) versus the Global South (supposedly led by China) is disingenuous--if not out outright Indian disinformation.
India is increasingly jumping on America's Anti-China Axis, as it is currently engaging in military exercises (Yudh Abhyas) with the Americans in the Indian province of Uttarakhand, which is not far from the disputed India-China border. These military exercises are designed to simulate high-altitude warfighting in a conflict over this border.
Moreover, India has participated the USA's Pacific Island Country Summit, which was specifically designed to maintain American hegemony in the South Pacific against China, and undermine the development of any Chinese engagement with Pacific Islander nations like its recent security agreement with the Solomon Islands--a security agreement that incidentally enraged the United States.
Finally, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently made a 10-day visit to the USA, which was primarily motivated by the desire to further prop up the America-India strategic axis, under the pretext of participating in the United Nations General Assembly meeting.
While India may insist that it is responsibly adopting a "principled neutrality" in the New Cold War so as to prevent reckless geopolitical destabilizations, the reality is the opposite.
India seeks to advance its own geopolitical ambitions against its primarily strategic adversary—China—by allying with the American Hegemon and its reckless New Cold War.
As this article below states,
“These developments point to the criminal character of the Indian ruling class. Well aware that at the beginning of this century the CIA and various US military-strategic think tanks had labelled India the world’s most “important swing state” in global geo-politics, New Delhi forged ever closer ties with Washington as it mounted a drive for global hegemony through wars across the Middle East and Central Asia and now unbridled strategic competition with Russia and China.
The Indian bourgeoisie has thus encouraged US imperialism to act ever more aggressively and recklessly around the world, but especially in its war drive against Beijing”
