If Putin hopes to reach a deal with Erdogan on Syria, then it’ll require keeping up the pretense (however unbelievable it is to objective observers) that Turkiye no longer backs terrorists, thus accounting for Lavrov’s diplomatic assessment of events there.
You only need the book "The Only World Power: America’s Strategy of Domination is the German title of a geopolitical treatise by Zbigniew Brzezińskis." The conflict zones of Ukraine and Syria could rapidly close to one if you look at the map.
Armenia turns to the US, Azerbaijan is dominated by Turkey, Iraq is destabilized by the US, Iran is targeted by Israel, Lebanon is more or less in chaos and Syria is bombarded with impunity by the US and Israel. Let’s not forget Georgia, it remains to be seen how this develops. The target clearly seems to keep the southern flank of Russia in turmoil. It will be time to create the China and Russia unrest on the southern flank of the USA, as they say so nicely to beat the opponent with his own weapons. If you sit on the banks of the river long enough, you can see your enemy’s corpse passing by. Chinese proverb - will probably not help anymore and just reacting to the actions of the West also leads to nothing. How about an Oreschnik missile in Syria, in areas of the HTS or Kurds who conquer territories for the USA. You could claim similar to the USA in bombing the Chinese embassy in 1999 in Yugoslavia, sorry we did not want to hit your base that was an accident.
The so called HTS is not Syrian. It comprises of some of the most uncouth savages from more than 46 countries, assembled under the aegis of Mossad by Turks loyal to NATO. Mossad's Senyarim brigade has hijacked much of the Islamist narrative as well, by fielding moles like A Goodman and C Werleman who are closet Ziofascists that rabidly hate just about every non-Israelite civilisation in the world. All said and done, the advance of the farcical "Syrian" HTS in Syria is nothing short of a dress rehearsal experiment by NATO acting via the agency of Turkey, for a much grander massive terrorist incursion for effecting "regime change" in Belarus. It is perhaps about time to pull the N trigger at least somewhere or the other instead of perpetually staying on the backfoot everywhere. The USA and EU never trust anyone, while deceiving everyone with their sweet talk. Trying to please everyone and being so naive as to try and believe everyone is the greatest weakness.
The reason why ordinary soldiers of the SAA have fled after abandoning their positions in the face of HTS assaults is that this motley conglomerate of Islamists employs superlative tyrrany for punishing dissidents after conquest , on par with those which had been demonstrated on a large scale much earlier by the ISIS which burn't genitals of captive soldiers with gas-lighters. The Zio- oligarchic cabal, of which Israel is a corporate office, via its swordarms the MSM, lends an aura of hallowed sanctity to such rabid beasts, as exemplified in the propaganda mouthpieced by closet Ziomaniac CJ Werleman who dismisses all references to the marauders in Syria which label them as Islamists, as the handiwork of pro-Russia liars inimical to Muslims and shamelessly calls them torchbearers of democracy. To instill confidence amonst the hapless public terrorised, tyrranised and frightened by the Islamist cohorts of Mossad no end, it is imperative to break the paralytic spell of their perceived regional omnipotence by N triggers to match and countervail the scale and intensity of their paleolithic brutality. Also, One cannot ignore the demoralising effect of direct bombardment on Syrian Army troops and its allies by Israeli and American warplanes operating illegally in Syria, in tacit support of the HTS. And the fear of unwittingly "escalating the situation" or inadvertently triggering NATO or Pentagon or anyone else who is already a participant from the devil's side, should not daunt Russia while considerating options for tackling the unprecedented menace posed by quasi ISIL mercenary outfits which are complete antithesis of human civilisation. As for the much tauted question of "cowardice" on part of SAA troops, the soldiers serving in armies of Qatar and Saudia are even less intrepid still, but that does not dissuade the US Centcom from maintaining its formidable presence in those countries.
Various offshoots of the ISIS, dominated by incredibly tyrranical Uieghur Tukic militants who are veterans from ISIS-1 in Syria, have dispersed in the Hindukush Mountains after the Mossad and USAF had salvaged them from the ISIS-1 debacle in Syria, and are lurching on the prowl as potential CIA assetts for entering Central Asia and Siberia upon receiving green signal from Ziofascist sponsors, for wreaking blood curdling holocaust via ferocious street slaughter under pretext of resurrecting the medieval Khanate of Sibir. Western MSM has given this gargantuan coalition which is essentially a NATO project manned by chiefly by Uieghur desperadoes, various confusing names such as ISIS-K, and the like. Military strategists aligned with the Zelensky regime have already dropped hints in this direction on multiple occasions, but it takes open eyes and ears to notice signals and warnings, the so called finger from heaven. Ceding yet more concessions to the corpimperialist Zio-oligarchic cabal, the veritable western deep state, on naive grounds of addressing Israel's existential threat concerns from its middle eastern environment, is not going to make Russia any more secure because the so called "valid security concerns" of this cabal extend way beyond Israel's immediate neighbourhood and encompass greed for coveting resources of the entire globe, but most specifically of Russia as articulated in unguarded moments by many authentic spokespersons including US Secretary Condoleezza Rice.
" It is perhaps about time to pull the N trigger at least somewhere or the other instead of perpetually staying on the backfoot everywhere. "
Why go extreme ? Why dont China and Russia just replicate the methods of the ZioWest ? Cant China fund a huge mercenary force ? Cant Russians train said force ?
The US southern border is wide open, it would be a shame if an army of heavily armed reconquistas rolled in. While at the same time Russia went full bore in Ukraine, China went after Taiwan and Iran rolled into Iraq to dismantle the occupation. TYhe US side would be so overwhelmed they wouldnt even know where to begin. However, it seems BRICS is a pathetic, scared joke.
" You could claim similar to the USA in bombing the Chinese embassy in 1999 in Yugoslavia, sorry we did not want to hit your base that was an accident. "
Except, unlike chicken shit China, the US would not consider it an accident and would respond appropriately.
With respect to Israel, no. They are very concerned. Hamas is aligned with Turks and they don't want another Turkish ally on their Northern frontier at all. The last I heard was they started shelling these Turkish-allied rebels.
Israel is Certainly not in an adversarial relationship with the HTS, despite its umpteen pretensions to the contrary. Israel will most likely transform Syria under Turkish sponsored terrorists into a hub for churning out jihadis it will pump across the Russian mainland, from Bashkiria to Yakutia. Zelensky regime has hinted at its plans for dismembering Russia in this fashion umpteen times. There is no waking up someone who would not take the hints yet still. Regular Turkish Army officers have been identified comandeering the HTS brigades in their Syrian swoop in the present case, and Turkey is strongly aligned with Israel on an official governmental level vide pacts such as Mediterranean dialogue and Istanbul conference, not to speak of NATO which is Israel's loyal vassal. Turkish government's moral support for Hamas is a hogwash, and part of the larger game in Israeli geostrategy to manipulate the Islamic world, much like the Senyarimist closet Ziomaniacs Amy Goodman and CJ Werleman implement Israel's agenda of Muslim manipulation under the charade of feigning Islamist sympathies. (Although it is granted that Salafist Islamist outfits do command a lot of sympathy from sizeable sections of Turkish populace, but at the governmental level, Turkey in entrenched firmly in the Israeli camp despite public denials for sake of public consumption). During the days when Hamas was still in its infancy and largely a protege of Israel, the latter had actually recruited and trained thousands of Hamas ultras on standby for wreaking carnages in Syria in the name of jihad at a later date as part of the loose ISIS coalition. That the Hamas eventually metamorphosed into an Israel hater is another story, which is part of the natural history of such creations of Ziofascists which Israel is wrongly branding as "proxies of Iran". Even a small section of the ISIS, which was another ingenius Mossad brainchild, had in the course of its natural evolution through time, stumbled upon revealing insights and rebelled against discreet Israeli overlordship under guidance of a renegade maverick named Al Baghdadi, with droves of the bottom rung cadre following suit owing to swarm behaviour dynamics. But, for the most part, Turkish army officers officiating in ISIS intermediate command ranks made sure to preserve discipline by summarily executing any subordinate who ever got any inkling of being a Mossad pawn in his lucid intervals between episodic inebriation with Captagon and East European concubines. The Mossad is adept at harnessing social groups ordinarily perceived to be enemies of Israelites, as unwitting handmaiden killing machines for unleashing them as ferocious and tyrranical hunting hounds on societies which Isreal or the Zio-oligarchic cabal seeks to vanquish or enslave. The Ziofascist cabal ensconced in western bourses intends to unleash the ISIS congeners in all of their stone aged ferocity on emerging economies of Asia, for maiming and mauling those civilisations via blood curdling genocide, and thereafter, after having thus sanitised the natural defenses of those civilisations, to mount direct invasion of those nations with NATO ICBM's in the vanguard to wipe out the ISIS proteges as well, paving the way for a cakewalk by Zio-oligarchic corpimperialist corporations in a neocolonial takeover to render those realms gargantuan serf sweat shops. Needless to say, if Russia goes down, the pervasive alien stranglehold of the ingratitudinal and thankless Zio-oligarchy on its western host societies will multiply by astronomical order of magnitude, making life for everyone on earth including the western hemisphere save this sparse cabal a veritable hell.
Perhaps because I wasn't consciously aware of a lot of it, just subconsciously suspicious, and lacking confidence of conviction. I couldn't back up a lot of what you state with sources (Much of which, I'm sure you can.) but I feel you're on the right track.
The problem with Syria is that it has little or no abassyia left. The decade long sanctions and crippling occupation of eastern Syria oil fields and wheat producing areas have collapsed the population, while bribery of key people and key military by all opposing forces, plus Assad's own mistake of not negotiating with Erdogan have created this situation. Very sad.
As long as the defense is almost non existent and cannot put any real rezistence. Look at the big arrow offensive of Ukrainians in summer of 2023. How many died? 25K-40K?
I don'y have many contacts there left that I am in touch, while the more permanent one is presently abroad. But those I am speaking with are livid with fury. I am livid with fury, being robbed. Same feeling about 35 years ago, when shown, after long hours of wait, the Kangoroo trial of Ceausescu and his expeditious assassination. Robed of truth and justice and made complicit to a crime (not that I liked Ceausescu, but that was not justice). Same now.
The biggest takeway for Russia from the Syrian fiasco is the need to prempt a replication of the HTS scenario at the hands of NATO thugs who plan to storm Belarus. Will need to hit the adversaries as well as their nerve centres real hard before they get to enter Belarus in small incursions and coalesce to a critical mass. Emboldened by their handlers in Brussels who had assured them of Russian reluctance to retaliate out of fear of embarrasment from the moralists in western media or western stooges in South Asia who share the megalomania of Muatma Ghandi, just about every Tom and Dick in EU had began pulling puches at Russia, so much so that Turkish piloted drones launched from Turkey had bombed Grozny in Chechnya, and so had German drones piloted by Germany and overflying Finland, bombed Murmansk. Eventhough Ukraine always claimed responsibility on purpose afterwards to cover for the EU's direct complicity. However, after withdrawing its focus from the Syrian theatre, Russia will now need to buck up and act decisively, and take asymmetric steps of its own initiative and at its absolute discretion, without worrying about or getting embarrased from adverse judgements either from the Europeans who stole 3 continents and went on to expropriate the self styled label of "international community", or the cohorts of those "international" imposters in South Asia with the latters' grandiose and pretentious claims to leadership of the global south. Because indecisiveness, inaction and vacillation are such handicaps as can bring the fate of Iraq to befall even a superpower. Arise and acquire fame by demonstrating your power and making a befitting example of your foes. Respect will follow suit from all sides and the world will hold you in reverent awe. "Sanctions", asset forfeiture and commercial traffic-blockade placed on Russia will evaporate in an instant once the protagonists have been rendered incapable of sustaining them by means of incapacitation, and the mobsters who have been bullying or terrorising the global south into compliance with those sanctions will thenceforth be ducking for cover everywhere and nowhere in sight. But for all of that to happen, decisive action rather than playing by the rulebook of the enemy is the key. And certainly this is not the age for the age old Chinese adage to hold force which hopes that if one waits passively on the river bank long enough, one will get to see the corpse of one's enemy afloat. In this age, time is of the essence and decisive action is the key.
Even the terrorists responsible for the Crocus city hall attack received training in Turkey. But I believe that there was no serious follow up against Turkey.
And when Azerbaijan backed by Turkey invaded Armenia, Russia did not do anything.
I doubt that Russian leaders will fuss much even in this case.
Russia wants to appear as an imaginary rival while really being in good terms with the US, Israel and Turkey.
Unfortunately, Russia hinted at supporting a multipolar world, but while in facts supporting the existing unipolar world.
Like the 3 readers already made comments above, I also think Turkiye is more of an agency, a conduit, than the source of the disturbance. Lavrov's statement of US/UK being the main driver is also clear from the language used by the so-called head of HTS. Even as an outsider, the guy's statement was totally Western, and I could not smell anything "desert" from that guy. He also keeps much less mustache than the stereotypical middle-east men. A "nut" hitting the HQ of HTS is probably OK. After all, Russia knew there was no US/UK involvement with the known terrorist group.
Exactly, Mr Nakayama. While both sides preserve the pretention that NATO or the west has nothing to do with the HTS turmoil, it appears safe and indeed prudent for Russia to decimate the so-called HTS hard with a NUT, in the reassurance that the Pentagon will not be able to cry foul by saying "escalation" or "provocation" without implicitly admitting that the PENTAGON IS THE HTS. And, in the latter case, Pentagon will be asking for it, for it would have already crossed the RED LINE of human civilisation in its capacity as sponsor of a Tyrranosaurus Monster steeped in paleolithic ethos of its own irrefutable candid admission. So, no reason to develop any moral compunctions about the NUT strike again anyways. If the ISIS with its hallmark paleolithic conscience does not qualify as legitimate target of NUTs, then in all probability nothing else does as well, and then there is no point then in retaining possession such a mamoth armamentarium of Nooks for ornamental purposes. Israeli military doctrine authorises Nooks for breaking any advance of an external army even just upto within the geographical confines of the Golan Heights, let alone descending to the plains south; accordingly, there should be no qualms for Russia to institute maximal security counter-measures against any advance by foreign mercenary- manned outfits such as the HTS, within a few kilometres of Syria's international borders. While on the one hand navies of the United States and Holland have mustered the audacity to plunder third country boats ferrying armaments to Yemen on the high Seas in international waters under the pretext of "preemptive defence" and are now poised to gift those looted armaments to the Zelensky regime, the least Syria and its allies can do with regards the whole contingents of HTS battalions swarming into Syria from Turkey with tanks and armoured vehicles, is to decimate those platoons with NUTS and to treat Turkey to carpet strategic delights if Turkey intervenes on their behalf. There is no point in being scared of Tukey invoking NATO Article 5 in this regard, because NATO as an aggressor has already violated Syrian sovereignty by despatching forces in tanks and armoured vehicles into Syria from Turkey whose declared motive is to conquer Syria in entireity. If Belgium and Berlin wish to run the gauntlet in collective aggression and legitimise it under article 5, be willing to give them a taste of the sweet consequences. Indecisiveness and vacillation are the greatest handicap that can possibly ever plague any power.
I am highly impressed by the level of detail, as well as the quality, of the analysis coming from Mr. Korybko on the current Syrian crisis. I have not seen anyone else dissecting it at this level.
HTS is the one not invited to the party this weekend, so any deal will cut them out. If a deal is not reached, the parties would have to engage in conflict at a level they cannot profitably sustain. In spite of the precarious and volatile nature of the situation, these factors tend to point toward a deal being cut. None of these deals are ever fully adhered to by the parties, so it's not quite so difficult as to imagine them agreeing to something. At least in theory, it might actually lead to something better for the long suffering people of the region.

Nobody said that "big arrow" offensives always would be successful. But they obviously do work sometimes.
For that matter, what changed in the SAA after the last flareup in fighting?
I am not following the situation. I am waiting for the outcome, whatever it is.

What on earth makes anyone think Erdogan is amenable to any kind of deal, much less that he'd keep his end of such a deal?
It would be fun if india sends it's military to iran so that iran can send some of it's military to fight in syria
