Considering the unlikelihood of a rapprochement between India and China anytime soon, let alone one that leads to a political resolution of their long-running border dispute, Indian policymakers would do well to put the “Asian Century” behind them and begin pursuing another paradigm for this century instead.
Yes, what you say is all very true — an excellent analysis, as usual.
How about this, though: rather than India working alone to pull the Global South together as you outline here, to form a South-South nexus and the dawn of an 'Indo-Afro Century', it works together with Russia to form a set of poles to balance the 'Golden Billion' and the 'WannaBe Golden' to form a 'South-Central-North' bloc (for want of a better term)? It won't be long after the collapse of the United States that Finland, Scandinavia and All Europe (are (economically) compelled to) wake up and develop new ways. The Silk Route belt-and-road may be favourite but there's good reason to encourage the development of the North-South transit corridor as well.
