That WSJ piece is short-sighted, or written with a purpose to promote the bi-polarity confrontation. neocon always want and need a bi-polarity world: you are either with us or against us. But when there are at least three pillars, then a large numbers of the bystanders can choose to be neutral. Even if a war comes out, it would be only those really with a skin in the game to participate. Of course, more groupings or factions do not guarantee peace, and there have been quite a few counter-examples. The bottom line is: Russia and India needs each other, they have had long and good relationship, and world peace is more promising when it is multi-polar rather than bi-polar.
