I am struggling to comprehend what's really going on with the Europeans. At first, I understood all these moves against Russia as a part of some bigger plan to somehow contain China and which Europe possibly saw as an opportunity to grab some assets from Russia.
If that was the case, reality intervened, sanctions failed, war failed, and even the ultra-staunch US neocons seem to now recognize their failure and want to back off. Minimally, Trump is authorized to speak out without being castigated, or at least the flag wavers are no longer as supportive. (600,000 dead will do that I guess).
But Europe wants to press on with pointlessly killing Ukrainians and throwing ever more fuel on the anti-western fires burning all around them?
European leaders are arrogant, egotistical, even tyrannical, but they cannot be as stupid as they appear right now. How in the world does triggering a wider war or keeping this going benefit them or anyone? How is risking a nuclear exchange in any way sane?
Make it all make sense, because Im not able to figure out what they think they're doing or hope to accomplish. I find historical enmity and stubbornness in the face of failure very unsatisfactory rationales.
One thought I'm toying with is maybe the powers behind all this want time to get opposition politicians in place before triggering some cataclysm. Even Zuck is calling Trump a "badass" for crying out loud. Apart from that, Im fresh out of conspiracy theories.
The imperialist empire is coming to it’s end and the western elites know that they cannot stop it. They are the ones that have caused their own demise, but they blame it on the rest of the World. They are no longer the world hegemony, the dollar will no longer be the world currency, sanctions will no longer work to manipulate other countries, and the petro dollar has petered out. Desperate people do desperate things. The west is in a dire position and there is no way to “turn back the clock.” We are truly living in a new world and the future results are a mystery to us all. Let’s hope that we can survive the present so that we can see the future.
