The combined effect is to prompt pro-Ukrainian protests inside Poland to pressure Prime Minister Tusk from the bottom-up into cracking down on the farmers’ protests in parallel with prompting the EU to do the same from the top-down.
It's also worth mentioning that these "agricultural products" are predominately produced by transnational corporations like Monsanto and Cargill, who swooped in when Ukraine privatized its agricultural industry (at the behest of the west, naturally). So the average Ukrainian farmer doesn't benefit anyway. Then there's the matter of quality. Agribusiness giants pollute their products with pesticides and other unhealthy additives in pursuit of the holy grail of profit. We've seen what that does in the United States, where the rise in health conditions like diabetes are directly linked to unhealthy (but profitable) agricultural practices.
Say what you will about the USSR's old collective farms, at least the fruits and vegetables that landed on Soviet dinner tables were healthy and nutritious.
