Reuters’ Report About “Pro-Putin Operatives” In Germany Pushes Russophobic Conspiracy Theories

Authors Polina Nikolskaya, Mari Saito, Maria Tsvetkova, and Anton Zverev act like it’s the disclosure of the century to reveal that some of the Russian diaspora in Germany and their descendants still retain ties with their homeland and are against NATO’s proxy war on Russia through Ukraine. This is no different in principle than those millions of Muslim immigrants in Europe and their descendants who still retain ties with their homelands and are against the West’s wars of aggression against them.

Leading US-led Western Mainstream Media (MSM) outlet Reuters published a detailed report on Tuesday about how “Pro-Putin operatives in Germany work to turn Berlin against Ukraine”. The dramatic headline implies that the individuals that’ll be identified in their article are foreign agents, hence their description as so-called “operatives”. Upon reading their piece, however, it becomes clear that it’s nothing but Russophobia.

The only reason why the Russian diaspora is being singled out by Reuters is because some of their members’ roles in organizing peaceful rallies in the EU’s de facto leader and sharing information about the Ukrainian Conflict with their fellow citizens there are successfully reshaping perceptions there. If their legal activities weren’t prompting a growing number of Germans to reconsider their government’s support of this proxy war, then Reuters could care less what they say or do in their free time.

The double standards at play vis-à-vis the Russian diaspora’s flexing of their respective constitutionally enshrined freedoms and that of their fellow Muslim minority’s there confirms the Russophobic motivations behind Reuters’ latest report. The degrees of separation between some of the identified activists and the Russian state are exploited to push the conspiratorial innuendo that these individuals lack any independent agency and are thus functioning as bonafide “operatives”.

Furthermore, it’s extremely condescending of Reuters’ authors to assume that average Germans would be surprised by the fact that some members of any country’s diaspora still retain ties with their homeland and are therefore sensitive towards Berlin’s acts of Hybrid War aggression against it. It’s also equally condescending to imply that their evolving views towards the Ukrainian Conflict are influenced by the Russian state via those several individuals that this outlet libeled as its “operatives”.

Germans are generally regarded as being among the most educated and well-informed people in the world so there’s no factual basis to suggest that they’re supposedly being duped by none other than members of the Russian diaspora in their country who obviously retain ties with their homeland. These artificially manufactured conspiracy theories concocted by Reuters in their latest report are meant to delegitimize rising dissent to Berlin’s policy towards the Ukrainian Conflict.

“The German Foreign Minister Discredited The Entire Concept Of Western Democracy” last August when brazenly declaring that the government won’t change its approach towards that proxy war “No matter what my German voters think” and “even if it gets really tough for politicians.” Annalena Baerbock’s literally anti-democratic stance that’s completely at odds with the most basic fundamentals of her country’s governing model was bound to provoke grassroots opposition.

Even Reuters acknowledged that “after a steep rise in energy costs, polls show fewer (Germans) are keen on expanding military support”, the trend of which is actually what they sought to delegitimize in their Russophobic report, ergo the libel that those activists are “operatives”. This defamatory disinformation is meant to manipulate average Germans’ perceptions about their peers’ evolving attitudes towards the conflict by falsely portraying them as the result of a foreign influence operation.

To that end, they exploited the degrees of separation between some of those diaspora activists and their homeland’s state together with condescendingly implying that Germans are stupid enough to be influenced by this supposedly obvious spy operation to concoct their conspiracy theories. In truth, the only influence operation taking place is that which is being waged by UK-based Reuters and its four correspondents against the German people.

About that, it’s hypocritical that they implied all sorts of libelous conspiracies about those diaspora activists without revealing anything about themselves and the possible degrees of separation between them and foreign actors apart from Reuters. Nikolskaya is the only author whose official page on Reuters includes the most bare-bones biographical information while Saito’s, Tsvetkova’s, and Zverev’s have nothing at all. Even their Twitter profiles here, here, and here don’t include any information either.

These objectively existing and easily verifiable observations lead to the natural conclusion that three practically anonymous authors want Germans to take their scandalous innuendo about those diaspora activists for granted without even disclosing any personal facts about themselves to build up trust. Remembering how educated and well-informed the average German is, this approach reinforces the conclusion that Reuters’ is treating its targeted audience condescendingly in order to manipulate them.

Once Germans realize this, they’ll actually be less inclined to trust the claims implied in that report and might even begin to distrust Reuters’ work as a whole going forward. There’s definitely something suspicious about that outlet relying on three practically anonymous authors in any of their publications, let alone the examined one that’s literally part of a UK-based influence operation against the German people, which is yet another reason why its latest Russophobic report should be treated with suspicion.
