Justified is one thing, ‘acceptance’ is another. The eastern value of ‘acceptance’ requires us to adapt to things as they are. There is human nature, history and ‘it is what it is.’ My working definition of sanity is the extent to which one’s views are consistent with reality (no time for post modernism.) So I counsel folks to adapt to an imperfect world, not to moan and groan about it for too long. For religious folks, the point can be made, moaners and groaners question God. Policies and practices that do not account for human nature, warts and all, will never well serve us. https://dianekern.substack.com/p/the-give-and-take-of-authority
