Andrew, I do not think Russia has any option except to finish the job of demilitarizing AND denazifying Ukraine. Putin made that clear today. IMO, Russia must completely defeat the US in Ukraine or the attacks will never stop. One of America's main foreign policy objectives, as you know, is to maintain its hegemony and to eliminate any country or region that does not obey. We've enough proof of that since at least 1945.

But the more rigid defence of Russian territory may cause far greater losses to the Ukrainian proxies. It is clear no deal will be allowed by the US, such as the old Kissinger recommended. So Russia will simply have to incorporate these territories into its Federation after the referenda voting to join it. Then the world will see to what extent the US-NATO thugs are willing to sacrifice Ukrainians and European citizens (through the self-destructive sanctions).
