Around $10 million was allegedly spent without Russia exerting any influence over the popular conservatives involved, which discredits the media’s claims of this amounting to “meddling”.
They'll let you back in, but they'll seize your passport so you can't leave again. That was actual policy at one time for Americans who visited Cuba. Maybe it still is? Mexico used to put an insert in your passport if you travelled from there to Cuba. The exit stamp went on the insert and the Cubans would put their stamps on it as well, so there was nothing on your passport to show you'd been there.
"This contradicts Russia’s image as a conservative superpower and therefore doesn’t advance its objective interests."
Ooops!
"...a total flop..."
Well, maybe not TOTAL. Look on the bright side: it has been exposed for what it was, and something may be learned from that; it's that much less likely to happen again.
"...it’ll still be used by them to discredit Alt-Media and Trump."
Again, in a positive light, both of them may (have) enjoy(ed) too much credit where it's not necessarily due. Wake up calls are good to stop people falling asleep at the wheel.
John Helmer of Dances With Bears wrote about this 'influencing operation'. He says that the goal was to turn the information war around and improve US opinion about Russia and the war in the Ukraine (not to influence any elections). That it flopped disastrously simply indicates the same lack of knowledge of the adversary that the US has towards Russa.
Facts don't matter, it's all about narratives. Same goes for the indictments. They don't care about convictions, so long as it inconveniences the people charged and sends a message to others who share their views. What should concern people most is the fact that one political faction can use the police and courts to enforce their agenda. That's the definition of a police state, and we're already there.
The current truly awful Amazon Series “Rings of Power” has more coherence and credibility than our current State-captured legacy mass media.
I know. It's all bullshit, same as it ever was. It did trigger me to write a rant you might find interesting.

Guards! Seize him!
Right? It’s why I don’t dare to leave the country. They may not let me back in.

To be fair, Russian attempts at p.r. have been amateurish at best, but mostly just comical.

Giving Tucker Carlson the interview was a much better investment!
