Let's not forget the astonishing number of "Non governmental organisations" that infest the country and the huge US Embassy. Hopefully enough Armenians will vote to make it impossible for fraud to prevail. It hasn't worked out very well in Romania for the EU, or Georgia, but Pashinyan seems to be a Zelensky calibre Western agent so I'm not holding my breath. In the longer term Brussels is further away than Moscow and they have even less money than Washington but but but both are desperate... So I fear you are right. The joker is Iran - what will they do? They are in no mood to fool about with TRIPP and have made it clear.

The next critical front for Russia is not, as some think, the Baltics; it is Azerbaijan, for a number of reasons, having to do with activity in Iran, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and in general the Caucasus and Central Asia. For that reason it is imperative---perhaps even existential---to remove the stavlennik Pashinyan ASAP, by hook or crook. What happened to the old KGB? The FSB is but a pathetic shadow.

Can you tell us to whom Pashinyan is loyal? And for who it's imperative to oust him?

Armenia is just a Western "Fort Apache" surrounded by Muslim countries. This is not Realpolitik, its Idiocracy on steroids. Turkey has waited over 30 years for accession into the EU without any luck, while Armenia appears to be being 'fast tracked' for everything, even NATO! This will not end well. . . Hmmm 🤔

Meanwhile, Russia sits on its hands and babbles about history.

«accepting the return of the ~200,000 Azeris who fled during the chaotic Soviet collapse»

Which started with the well organized pogrom (the local police stood aside or helped the azeri militia doing the massacring) pogrom of the armenian soviet citizens in Baku and other parts of Aserbaijan, and the azeris living in Armenian only did run away because they were afraid of something similar to be done to them in retaliation. When the decaying red army eventually managed to gather some troops to re-establish order in Baku the well organized azeri militia fought them and to this day those who did the pogrom and died fighting the red army are remembered as heroic anti-communist martyrs in Azerbaijan. My guess is that this was well executed "prometheism".

There is a récent vidéo of Jeffrey Sachs being interviewed bu an armenian journalist and telling her : « Armenia is in a bad track, ignoring geography basics : US and EU are very far away, whereas Rusdia is so close…first target of any armenian policy should be to be in peace with Russia, i e the contrary of current policy »

It’s crazy to see a Christian, orthodox country think with muslim states against Russia.

Armenia is a Christian nation living amidst a large Muslim population.. Russia is the country livng the closest to them .EU countries live far away. Armenia look to a super power for protection. Russia is the SUPER POWER. Far more powerful then all the EU countries combined.
