Average Americans have tuned out their elite’s snobbish arguments about the so-called “rules-based order”, “values”, “democracy”, and whatnot since many were misled by them in early 2022 into expecting “total victory” over Russia only to now discover that what they were promised is impossible.
We Americans were told that Ukraine was this brave little democracy fighting for its survival against imperial hegemon Russia led by a murderous, genocidal mad man named Vladimir Putin. We were told that sanctions would "bring Russia to its knees" in a matter of months, if not weeks.
Now, a year and 2/3rd's later, Americans see that Russia has managed to kill fewer civilians during that time than The Only Democracy in the Middle East has done in less than a month. We see a genocide, supported and paid for by our tax dollars without our consent, happening before our eyes. We see American Jews shutting down transportation centers wearing T-shirts emblazoned with "Not in Our Name."
The narrative for the first contradicts the narrative for the second. Meanwhile, our standard of living continues to decline at home.
These wars are not going over well, and you can already see the panic setting in at the top. This situation is clearly not sustainable.
