If the Biden Administration keeps capitulating to Zelensky, or at least does nothing to stop the Cuban-like crisis that he’s plotting by enticing Poland and/or France into conventionally intervening in Ukraine and setting into motion the worst-case scenario of forcing Russia to use tactical nukes in self-defense as a last resort, then World War III can’t be ruled out.
I think you've got a while to go yet before Russia needs tactical nukes to defend itself. The main danger is the official 'trigger point' rather than a real battlefield danger.
On the battlefield it would be in Russia's - and the world's - interests if Poland etc. attacked for then all pretence would be dropped and Russia would be free to interdict supply lines and command centres abroad.
They may even go for US spyplanes and drones and see what the us wants to do about that.
For myself i still cannot understand why there is not a massive effort to publish a meme: 'this is a civil war with KIev trying to implement ethnic cleansing'.
Roll that out and it might have more effect than a few brigades.
