It’s unrealistic that the US would withhold military aid to that end while hostilities are ongoing and thus create an opportunity for Russia to achieve its maximum goals.
"Despite Trump promising to end the NATO-Russian proxy war in Ukraine that Biden was responsible for provoking, he’s still a businessman at heart and therefore likely isn’t comfortable with his country receiving no return on their hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of investments."
Trump is fundamentally a halfwit at heart. He was on board the latest Ukrainian package by calling it a "loan" (which everyone knows never will be repaid). He was brought around to the continuing occupation of Syria by being told about the oil that could be stolen (the actual amount is piddling, in the scheme of things, not to mention involving the US military in open piracy).
Can't imagine where they're going to get them from, though: if it took Nuland/McCain et al. 'twenty years and five billion bucks', you gotta wonder what the hell they're (Trump & Co.) gonna do for an encore, having already had a wad of God-only-knows how many hundreds of billions blown since then! And, anyway, I thought Trump was supposed to be a 'businessman', i.e. knew and knows how and when to cut losses?
TBH Zelenskiy is toast anyway and I don't think President Trump will get involved!

"...more popular proxies."
Что имеется в виду: 《более популярные》 или 《больше популярных》?
I meant, "proxies that are more popular that Zelensky and his party".
Right, got it.
